In last Sunday’s video I briefly mentioned I was considering getting some bangs. I added a poll to the video, asking whether my viewers thought I should cut bangs or not. Since the very beginning, the results have been pretty much 50/50, with the balance tipping to either side every now and then. I noticed in the comments that the people who are for bangs are moderately enthusiastic, whereas the people who are against seem absolutely horrified. This calls for more explaining, haha!
In the aforementioned video, I was looking back at my hair journey through life. It dawned on me that I haven’t done anything with my hair for the past five years, and I feel like I’m ready for a change. A small, subtle change, mind you. Some people suggested I cut my hair into a bob and that’s still not happening. I can’t see that ever happening guys, sorry 😉 But bangs seem like a really fun little change that can easily be undone. Yes, I say easily, because I’m confident I can get through the growing out stage just fine. In fact, I’d love to make videos about hairstyles for all the inbetween-stages of growing out bangs. Unless I completely I fall in love, I’m planning on letting them grow out starting from December or January.
I think bangs would be super cute for autumn and winter. I love wearing hats in the cold seasons and bangs look really cute with that. I’ve also been wearing my hair up in buns and ponytails a lot lately, and bangs would break those styles up nicely. Robbert says it will make me look less stern, and I agree.
However, I’m not thinking of getting those heavy bangs I used to have at all! I’d love to get some sublte, wispy bangs. I’ve made a board on Pinterest with a bunch of bangs that I love, and today I thought I’d share my hair inspiration with you. These are some styles I really like!
This is at the top of my list. Selena Gomez has a similar face shape to mine, and I love how these bangs look on her. Super playful and pretty! This is 100% the look I’m going for.
It looks great with a bun as well.
Totally ups the ponytail game.
And here’s a nice option for the growing-out stage.
So as you see, it’s not that dramatic at all 🙂
I’m pretty sure at this point that I’m just going to go for it. My attitude towards hair has changed A LOT over the years, and I’m confident I can easily handle even a butchered haircut now. I stopped obsessing over my hair like I used to, and have adopted much more of a “it’s just hair, it grows back” attitude. Anyways, let me know what you think! Wispy bangs, yay or nay?
