Hair Inspiration For Bangs

In last Sunday’s video I briefly mentioned I was considering getting some bangs. I added a poll to the video, asking whether my viewers thought I should cut bangs or not. Since the very beginning, the results have been pretty much 50/50, with the balance tipping to either side every now and then. I noticed in the comments that the people who are for bangs are moderately enthusiastic, whereas the people who are against seem absolutely horrified. This calls for more explaining, haha!

In the aforementioned video, I was looking back at my hair journey through life. It dawned on me that I haven’t done anything with my hair for the past five years, and I feel like I’m ready for a change. A small, subtle change, mind you. Some people suggested I cut my hair into a bob and that’s still not happening. I can’t see that ever happening guys, sorry πŸ˜‰ But bangs seem like a really fun little change that can easily be undone. Yes, I say easily, because I’m confident I can get through the growing out stage just fine. In fact, I’d love to make videos about hairstyles for all the inbetween-stages of growing out bangs. Unless I completely I fall in love, I’m planning on letting them grow out starting from December or January.

I think bangs would be super cute for autumn and winter. I love wearing hats in the cold seasons and bangs look really cute with that. I’ve also been wearing my hair up in buns and ponytails a lot lately, and bangs would break those styles up nicely. Robbert says it will make me look less stern, and I agree.

However, I’m not thinking of getting those heavy bangs I used to have at all! I’d love to get some sublte, wispy bangs. I’ve made a board on Pinterest with a bunch of bangs that I love, and today I thought I’d share my hair inspiration with you. These are some styles I really like!

This is at the top of my list. Selena Gomez has a similar face shape to mine, and I love how these bangs look on her. Super playful and pretty! This is 100% the look I’m going for.

It looks great with a bun as well.

So cute!

Totally ups the ponytail game.

And here’s a nice option for the growing-out stage.

So as you see, it’s not that dramatic at all πŸ™‚
I’m pretty sure at this point that I’m just going to go for it. My attitude towards hair has changed A LOT over the years, and I’m confident I can easily handle even a butchered haircut now. I stopped obsessing over my hair like I used to, and have adopted much more of a “it’s just hair, it grows back” attitude. Anyways, let me know what you think! Wispy bangs, yay or nay?

  1. I think you look great either way <3 , but yeah, go for it. Like you said, they will always grow back, and it will be fun to watch your hair tutorials while you have bangs, or are growing them out later on. I love your faux-bang tutorials & they look great on you in those! I've had naturally curly hair since I was a teenager, so can't really pull off bangs since I was a kid in the 80s (and yes, my mom cut my hair & bangs too! πŸ™‚ ).

  2. Go for it! You live only once and it will definitely suit you. If not, it will grow back as you said.

  3. Hi, Lucy. You would look lovely with bangs! While it’s great to look at examples of bangs on others, your own beautiful face is the best way to get a feel for how they would look. My suggestion would be to go back and look at the pics/videos you’ve done where you created “faux” bangs and see what catches your eye. That would give you a great feel for what style, length and shape would look best on you! Good luck!

  4. I think you would look great with bangs! As someone who constantly keeps coming back to bangs myself it would be fun to see what kind of videos you could do.

  5. I vote yay! Now I do have wispy bangs so I might be a bit biased haha but I think they would look wonderful. They are very flattering and you have the perfect hair texture for them πŸ™‚

  6. I love your inspiration photos and really think those will look gorgeous on you. I too cut bangs (a year or so ago) and I can’t imagine not having them at this point. I hope uou go for it because you sound like you’d enjoy the change. πŸ™‚

  7. Hello, Lucy! I voted Yes for the bangs cause I think changes are good, especially hair related πŸ˜€ You have my full support! Hugs!
