The Forgotten Week | Loepsie’s Life

Happy Monday my lovely readers! As I’m typing this, it’s pouring rain outside and I can only think about Robbert and the scout kids who are off on summer camp in this horrible weather, poor things. I’ll get my fair share of rain this week as well, as I’m going out to cub camp to help a few days. At least I’ll be excused from sleeping in a tent, though :)

Anyways, last week was chaos inside my head, and I completely forgot to take photos most days. Then again, I did spend most days just sitting inside and working or doing whatever I was doing (I can’t even remember some days at all), so you won’t miss much. Let’s take a look at the photos I did take!

On Monday I was filming all day. I filmed a What I Eat In A Day video including a grocery haul, and I filmed this video about the ratties and what it’s like to keep rats as pets:

In the evening, just as I was heading out to the last dance class before summer break, my phone fell out of my back pocket and right into the toilet. Oh-my-god. I reached in and grabbed it right away (I didn’t even stop to consider how gross that is, lol! Priorities…) and it was still turned on, so I turned it off and quickly cycled to dance class. When I arrived there I took the back off and removed the battery and SIM card from my phone, and patted everything dry with a tissue. I tried to turn it on because I was so nervous, and it did turn on, so I turned it off again right away and left it off for the duration of the class. When I came home I took the phone apart again and placed it in a bowl of rice, wheat & quinoa mix, as that was the only thing I could find in the house, haha! The next day I turned it on again and it worked fine. There was a little bit of moisture behind the screen which made a watercolour-type stain on the screen, but it dried up within a few days so we’re all good now and I can laugh about the whole situation. It was really funny, you should have seen me :)

On Tuesday morning I took the train to Utrecht to film my Daenerys Targaryen hair tutorial. I watched the first episode of the new season the day before and I knew I had to do something with it, so all throughout the episode I was hoping we’d get to see Daenerys and she’d have interesting hair, haha! There aren’t that many characters with potentially recreation-worthy hair left on the show any more at this point, sadly… Only two I can think of really. I’m going to watch the second episode tonight so we’ll see if there’s anything good in there.

When I was done filming, I took the train back to my parents’ house to prepare that night’s Dungeons & Dragons veggie barbecue feast. All players were in the Netherlands so we could meet up in real life for the last session before we take a summer break. I wanted to celebrate with some nice food. It was a lot of fun and the food turned out great, yay!

Now this is where I didn’t take any photos at all and forgot most of what I did for two days. I remember on Wednesday, Robbert and I spent some time looking for houses and then I felt terrible for the rest of the day because the hopelessness of the hunt once again became apparent. I believe I did some editing and got some groceries, as my family was coming home from vacation that night and I cooked them dinner.

On Thursday my mom helped me finally get that VAT report out of the way that I’ve been struggling with for weeks, and the next thing I can remember is we went out for dinner to celebrate my dad’s birthday.

The next day I went back to Utrecht again to film a Beauty Beacons video. Here’s a little preview of it :) I headed back to my parents’ after I’d finished filming.

Saturday morning I got up bright and early to help out with the youngest kids’ summer camp at scouting.

Sunday I went to Utrecht, to film videos again. See the pattern here? Get why I’d really like to move back to my home town? Haha! I love Utrecht as a city but my whole life is happening in my home town, it’s so impractical to have to travel back and forth all the time. Not to mention costly. Anyways, this is the day I realised I’d completely forgotten to take photos practically all week. Oops!

I filmed a hair tutorial…

And a Tea Time video. I’m filming lots of videos as I’m leaving on my annual trip to Slovakia soon and I want videos to keep going up as usual while I’m away!

I made myself a massive portion of whatever-I-could-find-in-the-pantry-and-freezer for dinner. It ended up being spinach rice with spicy sambal baked cauliflower and mixed legumes. It was pretty good, actually!

And now I’m here, typing this diary, filming some more videos, and trying to get everything edited and uploaded a few weeks ahead. Busy days, but the good kind :) See you soon guys, have a great week!

  1. Would love a recipe for the baked cauliflower if you’d ever like to do one; every time I’ve put cauliflower near the oven, it has burned!

  2. Did you ever try to watch “The 100”? There are a loooot of really cool hairstyles going on there, it’s really worth watching just for the hairstyles and bad ass female characters :D
I’m gonna watch Game of Thrones in about 2 hours, reallyyy excited 😍 And I liked your attempt on Danarys hairstyle btw, it’s easy and does even work on hair that’s super thin as mine 🙈
