A Trip To The Efteling & A Bike Hostage | Loepsie’s Life

Hello to you, my lovely readers! I’m back again with another photo diary, showing you everything I was up to in the past week. This week has been a strange one, I have to say. Strange, but loads of fun. Let’s take a look!

Strange happening no. 1: when I got to Utrecht on my way home from dance class, I came to my bike which I’d parked at the central station, and found… Somebody else’s lock. On my bike. I asked the guard at the bike park what to do, and he advised me to come back next day with a saw (?!). He was fully prepared to help me get the lock off but he wasn’t allowed to supply the tools. The police apparently aren’t allowed to take a stranger’s lock off your bike either, as that would be considered damaging someone’s property. The guard said this happens quite a lot, sometimes people accidentally lock someone else’s bike in a hurry, thinking it’s theirs.

It was a nice evening so I ended up walking home, with the intention to return sometime in the following days and see what I could do.

Tuesday morning, grocery haul! I got crisps, bananas, ginger, lemon, stock cubes, instant soup, almond milk, muesli, lentils, veggie mix, canned tomatoes, spicy hummus, celery and crackers.

Tuesday was the only time I had to film videos this week, so I filmed three in succession and tried to edit as many as I could.

You guys may know I work with Jord Wood Watches, and they recently sent me a new piece. Look at this beauty! They launched a new line of watches this week as well, which is absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to get my hands on one of those one day, haha!

Noodles with veggies and marinated tempeh for dinner. I’m kind of obsessed with tempeh at the moment…

In the evening I lit the candles, turned on a home improvement show (my fav) and relaxed with a bag of crisps. A bit of well-deserved relaxing after a long day.

Next day, my family and I went to the Efteling! If you’re new to my blog: the Efteling is a fairytale-themed amusement park and my favourite place in the world. Endless source of happiness. We like to go every year and this was the day :)

We had a good reason to pay the park a visit: a new ride opened! The Efteling is amazing at dark rides, which are my favourite thing about it, and this is a brand new one. I couldn’t wait to go in!

As we were waiting in line for the ride, my parents surprised me with a cake to celebrate I hit 300k subscribers on YouTube. Isn’t this the nicest thing ever? :D They brought spoons and we ate the cake while in line, haha!

The park was amazing as ever, the weather was exceptionally great, and we had a fantastic time. In the afternoon, my parents dropped me off at home where Robbert was waiting for me after work.

Next day, I spent all day working on the little project I told you about last week.

When the first part was done in the evening, I put on a face mask, ran a bath and watched a show in the tub. We won’t have a bathtub in the new house, and I currently still have the bathroom to myself, so I’m enjoying the bath like there’s no tomorrow :)

Next day I did the visuals for the project I’m working on. I had to put my hair up in an 18th century hairstyle, which took up most of the day.

For some reason I decided to wear black jeans. Bad idea.

After I had taken the photos, I cleaned up, and took the style out of my hair again. I washed my hair straight away and set to editing the photos.

After that was done, I finally found some time to go to the central station and pick up my bike. I was ready to ask the guard to take the bike down for me, lock and all, so I could take it to the nearest bike repair shop and have them remove it for me. When I arrived however, the lock was gone! Apparently the owner realised their mistake and took it back. Problem solved :)

I went over to my parents’ house in the afternoon.

Next day, I was invited to do a Reddit “ask me anything” over on r/BeautyGuruChatter. I hadn’t used the website before so I took some time familiarising myself with it before the AMA started. I had a lot of fun answering all the questions! If you’d like to read it, you can do so HERE.

Sunday was scouting day! The kids’ film camp is coming up soon, where they sleep over at scouting and watch a movie (or multiple, if they’re older) in the afternoon. Usually in the weeks leading up to the camp, the kids make short films to screen at the camp, and today we made one as well. It’s a video set to a children’s song about witches who make magic soup :)

And that was my week! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week and have a great one ahead of you.

  1. How nice of your parents to give you that cake, it looks delicious! :D
Unfortunately I missed the AMA but I see that a question I would have asked was asked by someone else. It’s the one about cruelty free beauty products. You are right that there are EU regulations that forbid testing products on animals, but most ingredients are officially chemicals that fall under a different law. It’s still legal to test chemicals on animals and most big companies do so. Luckily, there are great websites listing cruelty free companies such as this one: http://www.crueltyfreekitty.com/list-of-cruelty-free-brands/ :)
