Happy Monday everybody! How has your week been? I really took my time to get a lot of work done over the past few days, and it worked! I’m almost back on schedule now and it’s a great feeling. Now I’m just hoping I’ll be able to keep it up since I have a lot going on the next couple of weeks. But that’s all in the future, let’s first take a look at what my week has been like!
Saturday
Early morning at the scouting! The weather was really nice so we wanted to take the kids outside.
But first, time for some indoor games! We played “cloud football” where they had to blow cotton balls off the opponent’s side of the table.
And then balloon popping war! Last person with their balloon still inflated wins!
Afterwards we went outside to climb some trees again. They really enjoy playing outside and its nice to watch them play together.
Hello Llewelyn! Robbert came over to my place instead of me going to his, because he was going to a concert in the afternoon and I had plans next morning…
Sunday
I got invited to go to a Virtual Reality Cinema! The first one in Europe, in fact. My network Divimove arranged that a couple of their influencers could come over and watch some VR movies.
In a room with spinning chairs.
It was the strangest experience! Really awesome thing to have done. I went with my brother and we vlogged the day, you can watch the video here below. Be sure to turn on CC to watch with subtitles.
Monday
On monday I took my dad and brother for a drive. Or they took me, depending on how you look at it. In any case, I was behind the wheel and pretty nervous. I’m not very good at driving and as I had driving lessons in a diesel car, it takes me quite some effort to get used to a normal car. I definitely need more practice before I’m able to go on to the road confidently!
The rest of the day I sat behind my laptop doing a lot of editing work. In the evening I hopped on my bike to go to dance class, and afterwards I went home to Utrecht. It’s incredible how long we have daylight right now!
Tuesday
Time for my weekly walk to the grocery store! The weather was still beautiful this day and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Here we are!
And this is what I got! Bread, cookies, bananas, hummus, peas, tuna, coconut milk, canned tomatoes, raisins, crackers, cheese schnitzels, ginger, grapes and peppers.
Tuesday means household chores, so I cleaned the entire house…
and did a load of laundry.
Then I sat down to film a haul for my Dutch channel.
Look of the day! A bit of an autumnal outfit maybe, but I can’t help it, I just love burgundy.
After I’d finished all my work for the day, I decided to start working on my gallery wall. I tried out different layouts using paper and sticky tape, and ended up with this.
I had this canvas with a painting on it that I started a few years back and never finished. I decided I was never going to finish that particular painting since I didn’t like the concept and layout any more, so I decided to white it out and use it for my gallery wall. I have a pretty good idea of what I want to paint on this one!
I hung most of the items up for real with nails, even though none of the paintings are done yet. I’m leaving them up bare for now and maybe inspiration will come to me, haha!
In the evening I made this delicious coconut & ginger carrot soup. So goood!
Wednesday
Tuesday evening I put these scarves in my hair and next morning they were still in, yay!
I filmed the scarf waves video this morning.
My first aid certificate arrived! Or well, card.
I’d bought a batch of bananas that went ripe way too fast, so I made banana pancakes for Robbert and me as a mid-day snack. He’s working on his thesis pretty much non-stop now, and I thought he could use a little pick-me-up.
I also convinced him to take a little break and go on a walk with me, haha! I usually go on walks alone so it was really nice to have him join me for once.
Thursday
Work work! Robbert left early in the afternoon to start preparing for the regional scouting competitions this weekend. He’s volunteered to go as a leader with a couple of friends and a lot of preparations needed to be made for the leaders and the kids.
So I took the opportunity to film a video!
I filmed the first episode of Beauty Beacons of Fiction, about Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice. I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out!
And here is the more wearable version that I went out in.
The weather was lovely so I decided to go out to the park and sit down with a book for a couple of minutes. I have Pride and Prejudice on my e-reader and since my whole day had been about Elizabeth Bennet, I got an itching to read it again. I got through a couple of chapters before the wind came up and it became too cold to sit still outside, so I went back home.
Where I made some pasta. I had my pasta and half an hour later I decided to eat the second portion as well. I couldn’t be bothered to get another plate so I ate it straight out of the pot, oh my…
And that wasn’t the end of it, I had a serious chocolate craving so I decided to walk to the grocery store and get me some chocolate vla. Yes I am embarrased, haha! Blame it on the hormones.
Friday
Time to film another Beauty Beacons video! Mata Hari was the subject this time, and this was the hair and make up look to go with it. Minus all the jewelry, don’t want to give everything away just yet ;)
The big question: do I wear this in the intro or not? I felt like a Mata Hari look called for a belly dancing costume and I happened to have this, but it is quite a revealing outfit, haha! You’ll have to stick around until next week to see what I ended up doing :D
In teh afternoon my friend Annick came by and we chatted over tea for a couple of hours, before getting some cheese fondue and thoroughly enjoying this rather unhealthy meal, haha!
And that was my entire week! Have a great Monday, my lovely readers! :)
You can always wear a beige or even black top under the bellydance bra ;)
True, but I do think that looks a bit silly :P I think I’ve come up with a good solution though! :)
