Happy cold & rainy Monday! I think spring just decided to leave, because the past couple of days have been super wintery. It even snowed. Luckily there were some nice days last week as well, all I can do now is hope the sun returns to us, haha! Let’s take a look at what my week has been like.
Saturday
Since there was no scouting this morning, I stayed in Utrecht for an extra day to get some more work done. I’d bought a batch of bananas that went way too ripe way too fast, so I had me some banana pancakes once more. Since I’ve found out you can make these vegan I’ve been enjoying them way more often. Yum yum!
OOTD! My favourite pink sweater, haha! And some next-day curls from filming the Mata Hari video (which is going up this Sunday, by the way!)
Doing some editing…
Afterwards I cleaned up the house and went over to my parents.
Play time for the ratties! This is Maxen enjoying some snacks on the couch.
Sunday
Robbert was away on camp as a leader during the regional scouting competitions, so I went to visit them and take a look at how everybody was doing. Our kids ended up ranking 4th and 5th overall and winning the cooking competition, while our leader team won best camp and most fun team. I’m so proud of all of them! <3
I didn’t stay too long since it was really cold and I wasn’t dressed properly, so I went back home and did some more editing.
Monday
Good morning baby rats!
I went on another drive. We’ve been keeping to quiet roads and taking it nice and easy, and I’m happy to say I think I’m improving. Driving is still not something I’d do for fun, but I think in a little while I may at least not be scared of it any more.
At night I went to dance class, the last one before a two week break, and afterwards I took the train to Utrecht. I picked up my bike from the gigantic bike shed at central station and off home I went!
Tuesday
Chore time! I bought quite a lot of groceries this week so I had to walk home with spinach in my hand.
Grocery haul! I got crisps, spinach, white cheese, buns, oats, soy milk, vinegar, cucumber, bananas, sweet potato, tea, beetroot and grapes.
Jumbo supermarket agrees with me, it’s always time for tea! ;)
Outfit of the day!
I have a thing for hummus. And by thing I mean love obsession.
I bought a mint plant a while ago and those things grow like weed! I have to have fresh mint tea regularly or the mint plant will overgrow my room, haha! This is so good to have with a little honey.
Leftovers for dinner. I’m having the rest of my ginger & coconut carrot soup.
After dinner I did some work and then I really felt like taking a little walk. It was still light out so I could go! I love how it’s light for so long now, it makes me so much more active. I tend to fall asleep when the sun goes down do this really helps keep me awake longer :)
Every time I leave the house I feel so incredibly lucky to be living here. I live in one of the best neighbourhoods in Utrecht, which is such a relief after having lived in a place for two years where I had to change before I went outside in order to have a chance of not getting catcalled or harassed. My current neighbourhood is such a beautiful and safe place to live and I couldn’t be happier!
Wednesday
Morning!
Oatmeal and tea for breakfast, as always.
I got to work nice and early and filmed this Frida Kahlo hair tutorial.
The aftermath!
Food photography is the bane of my existence, guys. I can never make food look good in photographs, so I always just hope you believe me it actually tastes great, haha!
I made this delicious beetroot spread which was so amazing I ate almost all of it in one day. Recipe coming this week!
I had finished everything I had to do this day and had a little time left before Robbert came over, so I decided to work on my wig a little bit. I looked up a couple of tutorials on how to make a wig look more natural and then I spent a good while plucking the hairline of my wig, haha! When I was satisfied with the way it looked I decided to leave it on and try out the makeup I wanted to wear to Elfia (formerly Elf Fantasy Fair) this weekend. I landed at this and I really like it!
When Robbert came we made dinner. Here you can see an attempt at sweet potato fries which ended up more like shreds, haha! We had some salad and a veggie burger with it and it was delicious.
Thursday
On Thursday we slept in a little bit and then we went out to take some outfit shots.
Robbert left in the afternoon and I filmed the Margaery Tyrell Beauty Beacons of Fiction video.
I used everything I had left over in my fridge to make a salad, of which I ate a part. I took the rest with me in a container since I’d run out of time.
I was going to my parent’s town for my brother’s piano presentation!
He’s been playing the piano since he was a kid and now it’s time for him to move on, so this was his last time playing here. He plays so well!!!
On my way home I encountered this absolutely gorgeous sunset.
Friday
On Friday I was invited by Benefit to attend the reveal of their new secret collection of eyebrow products. I’m not allowed to show or tell you anything about the products yet, but the event was so much fun! They had these delicious cakes out, of which I ate too many, and we got to see a magic show before the big reveal.
Lots of lovely ladies showed up.
The event was held in the gorgeous Art Noveau and Art Deco Tuschinski theatre in Amsterdam. Always a pleasure to be here!
I was absolutely blown away by the new collection and I can’t wait to show it to you guys soon!
Amsterdam! I went back home to my parents’ after the event.
And that was my week! I hope you had a good one as well and wish you all the best for the coming week!
This was a wonderful post, I loved it!
Leuk! Wat fijn dat je nu in een veilige en mooie buurt woont. Ik kan me voorstellen dat je daar dankbaar voor bent =)
