Greetings to you, my lovely readers! Hope you’re having a nice Monday so far. It’s time to look back at what my week has been like. I had a really good week: a nice balance between productivity and fun.
Monday
I left Robbert’s place to head back to my parents’ on Monday, to do my administrative work, edit for a bit and, of course, play with the rats. Getting on this bookshelf has become their new favourite thing to do, haha!
In the afternoon I took the train home to Utrecht.
Tuesday
Morning! Chores and filming day is on.
I headed into town to run some errands and do the groceries. Look at that little piece of floral boot sticking out, haha! I’m so happy I get to wear all my boots again, they’re my favourite type of shoe.
Grocery haul! I got soy milk, bread, lentils, veggie mince, spring onions, brussel sprouts, tomatoes and chilli crisps.
Time for lunch! Spicy hummus and avocado on some fresh bread. Yum!
Confession time! A few years ago I blocked the words “bean” and “atkinson” on my channel. Whenever someone posts a comment using those words, it won’t publish and will be “held for review”. In my defence, look at this. This is from the comment section of one single video only… I get drowned in these comments. By the way, the “ps I hate you” one is probably my favourite comment ever. Got a really good laugh out of that one ;)
Time to film! I filmed and edited two videos today.
Wednesday
More filming on Wednesday morning! I filmed and edited the pin up hair tutorial, first thing.
Then the time came to finally switch my closet over to autumn & winter mode. I’d been itching to take my sweaters out again but struggled to find the time. Today was the day! I sorted out all my summer-exclusive clothes…
and put them in these vacuum bags to be stored away during the colder months. I love these bags so much, they’re a total lifesaver for small spaces.
I decided to store my sweaters upright in the drawer this year. It looks like this should make them a lot easier to reach. By the way, look at this amount of cream sweaters. It’s ridiculous. Ah well, I like this colour, haha :)
My friend Lisa is back in the Netherlands! For a short while, at least. She’s still travelling the world but came to the Netherlands for a short stopover, so we met up for a drink and long catch-up session. It was really nice to see her again and I’m so happy she’s doing well and enjoying herself on her travels.
We had D&D in the afternoon! Lisa used to play with us before she started travelling so she stayed at my place a little longer to see the others as well.
Thursday
Thursday was a weird day. You know those days where you have lots of things planned, and everything just doesn’t go the way you’d wanted it to? It was one of those. Robbert and I ended up heading into town to find me a nice pair of over the knee boots. After visiting about every shoe store in Utrecht, we ended up in a strange, messy little store in an alley somewhere. I found these babies there! I’m so in love with them. I’d been wanting a pair of over the knee boots for a while so I can’t wait to style them. Expect a blog post soon! :)
Friday
Most of Friday (ok, almost all of it) was spent on filming and editing the Spider Queen Halloween tutorial. I wanted to do a fairly easy and approachable look that can be recreated with basic makeup, and this is it. It was much more time-consuming than I thought it would be, though…
A little snack to haul me over.
After filming and a big portion of editing I was so done with it all, I decided to take a quick walk in the park. When I came back I chopped up some leftover vegetables I had and decided to just pop them in the oven with some curly fries.
Sometimes lazy cooking is the best kind, haha!
Saturday
I was looking forward to Saturday all week, since I had planned to go back to Amelisweerd again. I packed my lunch and ereader, put my leather jacket and scarf on and headed out!
This day was absolutely gorgeous, oh my. The perfect autumn day for a nice, long walk. The temperature was just right and the light was perfect, I kept running into these lovely scenes with rays peeking through the treetops. So beautiful! I took an extra long walk and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Afterwards I sat down on this bench and read another story from Dangerous Women. Just towards the end of the story, a big cloud covered the sun and it became a little chilly, so I decided to head home after I finished reading.
I went to my parents’ house and played with the rats some more!
Sunday
In the morning I finished editing the spider makeup tutorial, before hopping on my bike and heading to Robbert’s.
Right underneath this sky. It’s a miracle I made it there dry, look at this! It was pitch black.
We watched Grease with his family, haha! Such a classic movie, always nice to watch :)

I thought the same that Verena, I started watching your videos when you still had bangs, and I kinda felt that was the reason they look at you that way. Your bangs make your face look rounder and the attention goes right to your big eyes. I don’t get why your boyfriend told you that it would suit you better or that you wouldn’t look “stern”. You look really pretty without them =) I’m glad that you take those comments with humour now.
Oooh no no I have to come to Robbert’s defence, you completely misinterpreted his comments haha! I asked him what he thought of me getting bangs, and when I ask him for an opinion on any look of mine, I demand an honest answer ;) And yes, he always comes up with the “you’re always beautiful no matter what” first but I’ll keep asking until he gives me some kind of actual opinion on bangs :P So he said he thought it would make my sleek, brushed back updos look softer (eg less stern), which I completely agree it does :) Never once did he say I look better one way or the other (although if he did think that he’d say it, and I’m glad he would. I never fish for compliments with him, just need him to tell me when I’ve made a wrong choice and luckily he does :) )

Here in Italy is suddenly a cold autumn and I have still all my summer clothes around. Last week I was wearing skirts and ballerinas with bare legs and today I had to bring out a coat. I’ll miss this year’s indian summer…
Now I really need to bring out warm clothes and I think I’ll copy your vacuum bags idea :)
I’m sorry that you are still receiving those mr bean comments, people are mean sometimes. I really couldn’t understand why someone have this urge to leave hate comments, is there some kind of point or deep meaning in leaving hate comments that I can’t get?
Those boots are SO pretty. I saw them on Instagram and fell in love. I don’t think they would suit me because I’m very short and have thick tights, but they look amazing on you!
Also I find it amazing that you edit so much, every week. I hate editing, that’s why my videos never go up @_@ Egh. Boring task for me.

Whoa, I remember seeing those Mr. Bean comments on your videos around the time you started Youtube. But I thought that they just disappeared, I am surprised you still get those. People are just mean… That ‘PS I hate you’ comment though xD

I was naive enough to believe people stopped with the Mr. Bean comments as well. ^^ What’s most irritating about comments like this is how everyone thinks they’re really original. Like there was a point in hate watching and hate comments.
Hahaha yes, many of them start with “Am I the only one who thinks…” and I’m sitting there quietly, thinking… No. No, you’re not the only one. Sigh. xP
