Spring Cleaning Checklist

The sun has come out, temperatures are slowly but surely rising, wildflowers are starting to bloom… Spring is here! This time of year, I always feel an urge to go through our entire apartment and scrub it from top to bottom. I have a daily and weekly cleaning routine that I go through, but anything that’s not in that routine tends to be forgotten and overlooked a bit. Now’s a perfect time to tackle all of those areas that need a little bit of extra love.

I’ve compiled a checklist of all the tasks I want to finish in my spring cleaning round. It’s sorted by room, since that’s the way I prefer to do my cleaning. However, I do prefer to do all the floors last. We live in a tiny apartment so it’s easier to just do them all in one fell swoop. These lists are also sorted by the order in which I like to perform the tasks; automated tasks and pre-treatments first, then cleaning from top to bottom.

I don’t include tidying, decluttering and organising tasks in my cleaning list, as I like to do those separately. When I’m spring cleaning, I’m only walking around with spray bottles and microfiber cloths. Decluttering and organising comes before or after (or both :) )

This list was made with our little single bedroom apartment in mind, so you may need to tweak it a little to suit your needs. Feel free to add more rooms/areas or remove anything that doesn’t apply to you.
