Ok, ok, I know I’ve already talked about my dungarees on here one too many times. I’m just utterly and completely in love with them and to be fair, I haven’t featured them in any outfit post yet! Today I’m going to set that straight: it’s time for my lovely “garden pants” as they’re called in Dutch, to shine.

So far I’ve worn them mostly with sweaters and I love how comfy and cute they are that way, but with temperatures rising, it’s time for me to explore different ways to wear my dungarees. No matter how urbanly I see people style these, I can’t really shake my association of “garden pants” with the country. For this outfit I decided to just roll with it and jump in head-first 🙂

I love the way these light wash dungarees look with pastels and white, so I decided to pair them with a white, lace detail top. My white lace sneakers are pretty much the only pair of sporty shoes you’ll see me in, and I think they work wonderfully with the casual feel of the dungarees. A beautiful wooden watch and big, floppy straw hat pull the look together. You know I love my hats!

Duster Coat & Cherry Blossoms | OOTD

Last week, Robbert and I went on our seasonal shopping trip. Usually at the beginning of a season we’ll take a day out to head into another town and buy ourselves a few new, seasonally appropriate items. I like taking Robbert shopping with me, as for some reason he has the amazing ability to spot pieces in the store that I don’t notice or don’t immediately like, but that look amazing on me. On this most recent shopping trip, Robbert pointed out this khaki duster coat at Primark. I dismissed it right away but as we kept walking, I couldn’t get it out of my mind. I headed back and decided to try it on, and of course, it looked amazing.

This is a piece I’d say isn’t really “my style”, in the sense that I don’t own anything similar and I don’t really know what to combine it with. So, naturally, I asked Robbert to help me style an outfit, using the duster coat as the key piece. And here you have it! I wouldn’t have thought of putting this together just by myself, but oh my, I do love it. I think this is a really good look with just the right amount of “out-there-ness”, I feel amazing in it and I’ll definitely be repeating this one.

My Fjällräven Re-Kånken Backpack

A few weeks back, I saw a blogpost by a Dutch blogger showcasing her new backpack. The second I saw it, I fell in love. I’d been on the lookout for a new backpack for a while and this one had everything I was looking for. It was elegant, simple, the perfect size and shape, and environmentally friendly. It was the Fjällräven Re-Kånken. Lucky for me this was just a few weeks before my birthday, and my parents were sweet enough to gift it to me as a birthday present. Meet my new backpack!

Cold Winter Day | OOTD

It’s been freezing in the Netherlands. Proper freezing. Ice skating fanatics are going mad, there’s frost on the trees, and there’s even snow on the ground in the countryside. We don’t get snow often in the Netherlands so it always feels super special when there is some. I’m personally very bad at handling cold, my body does much better in a warmer climate, but every now and again some good, old-fashioned wintery weather is just plain fun. Robbert and I decided to head out to Amelisweerd to take a little walk as the sun was shining, and I brought my camera to capture some of the beauty. I also thought I’d share my standard outdoors outfit for winter with you, what I wear when it’s freezing and how I attempt to stay at least somewhat comfortable. Hint: wearing two pairs of gloves helps a lot. I always try to make an effort to make my outerwear look cute, especially this time of year as it’s often all people see you in.
