Used Up: Makeup Wipes & Shower Gel

I recently used up two products, a packet of makeup wipes and a shower gel. Today I’d like to share what I thought of them!

Onyx Dermo Labs Eye & Makeup Cleaning Wipes

A few months ago I picked up these makeup wipes at Action, a store that sells bulk items for very little money. I believe these wipes cost me about 70 cents, so I wasn’t expecting too much of them. But my, I was surprised!

These wipes are way better than you’d expect, when looking at the price. In fact, they’re better than some €5 wipes I’ve tried.
They’re nice and moist, so you don’t have to rub too hard to get your makeup off. The sheets are soft and not scratchy at all, and the formula of the makeup remover is really gentle to the skin.

The wipes claim to effortlessly remove waterproof mascara, which I haven’t tested, since I don’t own any waterproof mascara. It does do a good job on my regular mascara, although it’s always better and gentler to use makeup remover on a cotton pad to remove eyemakeup.

The makeup remover contains aloe vera and vitamins B5 and E. It’s pH-neutral and hypoallergenic, which is a lot for a €0,70 product, if you ask me! One packet contains 25 wipes. These wipes weren’t tested on animals.

Ingredients
Aqua, Disodium Cocoamphodipropionate, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sodium Benzoate, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadenis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract, Dehydroacetic Acid, Perfume, Phenoxyethanol, Panthenol, 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane–1,3-Diol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Citric Acid.

I feel like I found a little pearl at Action, haha! I’ve already repurchased this item several times and surely will continue to do so. You can’t beat this quality for this price!

The Body Shop White Musk Blush Sumptuous Silk Shower Gel

The Body Shop is known for its original cruelty-free musk which they use in some of their perfumes and body products. I fell in love with the limited edition White Musk Blush scent a few years ago, and since the perfume was a bit above my price range, I opted for the shower gel instead.

The Body Shop describes this scents as mysterious, sensual and alluring as womanhood itself. I agree, it’s definitely a woman’s scent, on the “darker” side of the scent spectrum, if that makes any sense. I always decribe scents by colour which seems perfectly logical to me but often not to others, woops! Let’s stick to: it smells like musk, with slightly floral notes. It’s definitely a sexier scent.

I love shower gels from the Body Shop. Not only do they smell amazing, but they lather up really well, and don’t dry out the skin. I have a giant bottle of the Moringa shower gel in my shower right now that’s going to last me years, and that’s my absolute favourite. The Body Shop doesn’t test on animals.

Ingredients
Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cocoamide DEA, Parfum, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Chloride, Mel, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Citric Acid, Maltodextrin, Benzyl Salicylate, Linalool, Disodium EDTA, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butyphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Hibiscus Abelmoschus Seed Extract, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides Citrate, Tocopherol.

I loved this showergel and even have a distinct memory for the scent, but I have to be honest with you, by the time I’d reached the bottom of the bottle, I’d grown pretty tired of the scent. It’s a nice scent, but a strong one. I found myself reluctantly “using it up”, forcing myself to use it so I could finally replace it in my shower. It’s been a good run, but I don’t regret it’s over. I won’t be repurchasing this particular shower gel (I couldn’t even if I wanted to, it was limited edition), but I’ll definitely be returning to The Body Shop shower gels!
