Hello everybody, how’s your Monday going so far? I’m super excited for this week since I’m going to be spending a good chunk of it in IRELAND! Aaaah! I’m all packed up and ready to leave, but before I go, let’s take a look at what last week has been like, shall we? It’s been an absolutely lovely week highlighted by a celebration!
Saturday
Saturday morning is scouting time! We taught the kids the basics of reading a map today. Some caught on very well, others had more trouble, but together they were able to find all the treasures we had marked on the map. It was fun!
Afterwards I went over to Robbert’s place, where I forgot to take photos as always, heheh :)
Sunday
After I got home from Robbert’s I went to visit my friend Annick and we went to get some icecream, and then chatted over tea for hours. As you do. We seem to be able to talk endlessly, haha!
Monday
I’m really bad at taking photos over the weekends when I’m at my parents, really need to start trying harder! Anyways, the ratties got to play with this cardboard box and it was absolutely adorable to watch.
I spent the day working a lot behind my laptop, it was quite boring to be honest. At night I went to dance class and then home to Utrecht.
Tuesday
Grocery time! I enjoy walking to the grocery store and am happy I’ve been able to keep doing it for so long now. I just wish it was a more scenic route to walk, haha! The surroundings really aren’t that pretty over there but it could definitely be worse. Not complaining! :)
Grocery haul! Bread, bananas, strawberries, tomatoes, beans and hummus. I barely got anything this time since I was only going to cook one night this week and still had some food left from last week.
I LOVE strawberries! If berries weren’t so ridiculously expensive I would eat them all the time. It might be worth cycling to the market some day since they tend to be a lot more affordable over there. Might do that next week!
This week’s batch of oat muffins was matcha-flavoured. It was alright, not my favourite combination though.
I sat down to play with makeup for a bit and made this graphic liner look. I really like how it turned out!
This dinner. I’m not proud of it but it was good and nutricious, haha! I needed to use up some leftovers and this was the result. Potatoes with beans and tomatoes. And mayonnaise.
Wednesday
On Wednesday morning I did some editing and writing, before Robbert came over.
We watched the new episode of Game of Thrones and then…
We went out to dinner! Wednesday was our five year anniversary. Five years!! I’m so happy we’re still very much in love and enjoying life together after those years. It’s quite a busy period now as Robbert is writing his master thesis and there’s a bunch of other stuff going on so we didn’t have much time to celebrate big, but I wanted to surprise him with a nice dinner.
Both of us love Mexican food so it made sense to go to a Mexican place. We went to Popocatepetl in Utrecht and the food was delicious! After a little entree I had this gigantic burrito which was amazing but I felt like I was going to explode. I had a vegetarian version so they substituted the meat with cheddar cheese, so-much-cheese! It was delicious :D We were going to get some dessert afterwards but decided not to after the main course, haha!
Thursday
On Thursday I was lazy. I didn’t feel like working at all, but we did take some outfit shots (which I’ll share soon) and I did get a little work done before we headed out to our friend’s house for Dungeons and Dragons. He had cooked a delicious green veggie soup and I was so happy to get my vegetable fix after yesterday’s cheese overload, haha!
Friday
On Friday I was still lazy, but it was my last chance to get some work done before my trip to Ireland so I did force myself a little harder. I had a good lunch and then on with work I went!
I filmed the Holly Golightly Beauty Beacons video. Man, this was horrible! One of those hairstyles I’m never recreating again, haha! Way too much trouble for me. The end result was quite nice though, I’m happy with it.
Afterwards I cleaned up and packed my suitcase full of everything I’d need for my trip to Ireland and the days leading up to & following it.
I’m so so so excited for my trip guys! I’m leaving tomorrow morning and I cannot wait to get there. It’s been so long!
I’ll keep you updated of course, on social media and in next week’s photo diary. Stay tuned! :)
Awwww congratulations on 5 years! Me and my fiance have been together that long too :D I am just now catching up on your blog, it is so fun to read! I hope you are having a great day <3
Ha, I had the exact same dinner in the exact same spot yesterday! Congrats on 5 years! :)
