I have a thing for tea-themed jewelry, as you may have seen in my jewelry collection. Weird as that sounds. In fact, I have a thing for tea-themed everything. I’ve had Fimo clay laying around for ages and wanted to do something with it, so why not make a teapot necklace?
Today I’m going to show you how to do it!
I used one strip of white Fimo clay. Knead it in your hands or in a pasta machine to get it ready for use.
First, I rolled about half of the strip into a little ball. This will be the base of the teapot.
Next, I rolled a little piece of clay into a slight cone-shape, that I moulded to look like a spout. I then attached it to the base by smoothing the clay onto the base with a little marzipan-moulding tool (see pictures below). I also used the tool to make an indent in the top of the spout. (Please excuse the nasty nailpolish).
Next, I made a little ball that I flattened out slightly and then gently pressed onto the base, to make the lid. Another little ball on top finishes it.
The last step is to mould a handle and attach it to the base using the marzipan tool. Then take a little hook, clip to the desired length, and press it into the top of the teapot.
Then all there’s left to do is bake your teapot at 110 °C for 20 minutes, and paint it however you want! I decided to go for a simple traditional Dutch “Delfts blauw” design, but you can let your creativity flow on this one ;)
Enjoy your new custom DIY teapot necklace!
That is so adorable, I have never even heard of fimo clay.
