The Basics of Knitting

After my crochet beginner’s tutorial, it’s time to teach you how to knit! There’s less to knitting than crochet, but I do think it’s a bit more complicated. I’m going to show you how to cast on, knit, and purl. I hope you enjoyed these two little tutorials. Have fun and enjoy your new skill!

  1. Oh wow, that's a beautiful scarf! I have to admit I don't know how to properly change colours in knitting… I always just come in with another string of yarn but that leaves you with ends sticking out everywhere :P Sorry I can't help you with this!
Although I found a few tutorials (http://newstitchaday.com/change-yarn-color/) and they seem to just come in with another colour as well..?

  2. Hi!

I'm primarily a crocheter, too, but there's this scarf pattern that I found on ravelry a while ago (it has a one ring inscription!). it started coming out backwards, though, so I had to undo the entire thing, but that wasn't the only problem. the patter makes it so that you have to keep changing colors, but I've never changed colors while knitting. Could you tell me how?

Here's the link to the pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/one-ring-scarf
