DIY Pinecone Gnomes

I became acquainted with THESE little fellows from We Bloom Here a while ago through Pinterest. Needless to say, I fell in love with them and I really wanted to invite some into my home. So today I would like to introduce you to their wintery cousins!

You will need:

Pinecones
Snow spray
Felt
Cotton balls
Needle & thread
Scissors
Permanent marker

DIYPG2

Start by spraying your pinecones with snow spray.

DIYPG3

Press the cotton ball onto the top of the pinecone and twist it back and forth a little bit to make it stick.

DIYPG4

You’ll need to cut out a circle of felt for every gnome. I traced a candle to be sure to get the same shape and size every time. (You can make a test circle out of paper first to make sure you’ve got the right size).

DIYPG5

Cut into the circle until you reach the middle, then make that cut a triangle. This will make it easier to roll the circle into a hat, and you can use the triangles later.

DIYPG6

Roll the circles into little hats and sew them up. Try the hat on your gnome to check the size before you sew it.

DIYPG7

Use the triangles to cut little pairs of feet, and cut some mittens out of more felt. Glue the feet and mittens onto the gnomes. Give them eyes by poking a permanent marker at the cotton ball.

And here they are! Snowy pinecone gnomes. I hope they will find happy homes in many of your houses :)
