Whitening My Teeth

There’s one downside to being an avid tea lover… The stains. Oh, the stains! Sooner or later they’ll catch up on you and bam, yellow teeth. In the Netherlands, teeth whitening is only available through dentists and is very, very expensive (hundreds of euros for a treatment). Needless to say, when I got asked if I wanted to try out an at-home whitening kit, I was happy to jump on the opportunity. Hello, pearly whites!

The past few weeks I’ve been testing out the at home teeth whitening kit by Smile Brilliant. In this video I’m showing you the entire process from making dental impressions, getting custom trays made, and the whitening process itself! And of course the beautiful result :)

  1. I hope you don’t mind me saying this (you’re probably aware of it yourself), but you should be careful how often you whiten your teeth in the future (as they will definitely not remain as white as they are now), because prolonged bleaching will damage your tooth enamel beyond repair. Enamel can’t regenerate itself, because ameloblasts (the cells responsible for the synthesis and secretion of most enamel components during tooth development) are lost during tooth eruption. Maybe a visit to the dentist before and after a session would be good (just for a check-up).

  2. I must say I absolutely hate teeth that is so white it’s no doubt you have used teeth whitening, but yours look very pretty and natural! :D

  3. Heehee, I like my teeth zing-white, but then again, I’ve been living in the US for most of my life, haha. Are you able to get PlusWhite in the Netherlands? I have seen it on iHerb (EU one) for about €6.00. You could use those trays with it too. It’s works great for me: I use it once a day or so, for 5 min., during my daily shower (no need for long sessions, excepting the initial one which you wouldn’t need anyway having done this treatment) for a couple of weeks at a time when I feel the need. Though I also heard one can just swish diluted peroxide (which is the active ingredient in all these whitening treatments) to whiten.

    1. Hahaha zing-white is definitely a US thing imo xD I’m not sure we have PlusWhite, but €6.00 isn’t too bad at all! Thanks for the tip! :)
