I’m sure I don’t have to tell you I’m a green tea lover. Green tea is so great in so many ways; besides being delicious, it’s high in antioxidants and amino acids, and contains a little caffeine to boost your brain function. Now, enter matcha tea. Matcha tea is like the super version of your average green tea; it’s made out of a special variety of tea grown in Japan, and actually consists of powdered freeze-dried tea leaves. You mix the powder with liquid to get matcha tea, and since you drink the actual leaf rather than just the tea, the brew is much stronger and you get maximum benefits. Matcha can be used for more than just making tea though, you can mix it into baked goods, smoothies, ice cream… The possibilities are endless! One method of consuming matcha that’s become very popular lately is the matcha latte.
