‘Tis the time of the year to look back at the past 365 days and reminisce about all the good and bad times (but let’s focus on the good, of course). Some big things have happened on my YouTube channel this year, and I thought it would be fun to take a look at the 10 most popular videos I made in 2016. Let’s go!
Cutting My Bangs | OMG
I… Just… I have no idea what happened here. In late September I decided to give myself some bangs for a change and film the process, and for some reason, almost 3 million people thought that would be interesting to watch. This video absolutely exploded and gave my channel a big boost. I think it’s safe to say 2016 has been the year of bangs for me, haha!
Cute, Easy Hairstyles With Bangs
I’m sure it’s partially thanks to the cutting bangs video, but my hair tutorials have been doing better than ever this year. People seem to really like the simple, quick, no-fuss hairstyles best and this video went down really well!
How To Tame Bangs | Styling Tips
The bang party continues with this video full of styling tips! Bangs are cute but they can be quite a handful. I’m spilling all the beans on how to tame bangs in this video.
Pull Through Braid Tutorial
This one just about made the list, but it was posted on January 1st of 2016 so it counts, haha! The pull through braid was a big trend at the beginning of this year and my tutorial for it was quite a popular one. I really like this “braid” still!

Oh summer, I miss you… This tutorial with some festival-proof bohemian hairstyles was one of my favourites of the past year.
How To: Victory Rolls
Definitely the most popular historical hairstyle of the past year has been this tutorial for victory rolls. A classic, and so much easier to do than you’d think!
Victorian Rag Curls
Another historical one! I had a lot of fun playing around with rag curls, and I was SO glad to see they work well on me. These curls are absolutely perfect for reenactment or historical costumes.
Topsy Tail Braid | Tutorial
The topsy tail braid is another fun braid variation that, like the pull-throug braid, is actually a stack of little ponytails. Really nice if you’re looking to change up your regular braid!
How To Hide Bangs
And the bangs are back! As much as people wanted to switch things up by getting bangs, apparently quite a few were also looking to get rid of them, at least temporarily. My guide to hiding bangs was the 9th most popular video of this year!
My Hair Journey
The video where it all started. I went over all my different hairstyles and colours throughout my life, and ended the video by saying I’d maybe like to get some bangs again and asking whether people thought I should do it or not. I had bangs for years when I was younger and always really liked them… Obviously I went for it and it was probably the best decision I made this year :)
Those were the 10 most popular Loepsie videos of 2016! All hair tutorials except for the last one, wow… I do have to say I’ve rediscovered my love for doing hair this past year and have enjoyed doing hair tutorials a lot more. I’m super excited to see what 2017 will bring for my channel!
