I’ve been on a right liquid lipstick kick lately, and loving it. It took me a while to fully immerse myself in the wonderful world of the matte and longlasting, but now I’m all the way in and I don’t want to leave any time soon. And of course, when speaking of liquid lipstick, one can’t pass up NYX: the queen of affordable liquid lipsticks. My brother got me this beautiful set of NYX Liquid Suede cream lipsticks for Christmas (after a subtle hint, of course) and today I’d like to share it with you. Let’s take a look!
What I’ve got here is the trio of Liquid Suede lipsticks containing the shades Vintage, Soft-Spoken and Cherry Skies. I’m so happy they bundled these together in a set, because they’re exactly the three colours from this line I was the most interested in. I feel like this is the perfect set for me, I’ll get lots of use out of all three of these!
The cream lipsticks come in plastic tubes the colour of the product. This colour is a really close match, so what you see is actually what you get! The downside to an un-transparant bottle is you can’t really tell when you’re about to run out, but I can live with that.
The cap is a glossy black with a diamond-like pattern on top, really cute. Inside there’s quite a large doe foot applicator. I would’ve prefered that to be a little smaller, having it this large makes it a little harder to work with for me and my small lips.
NYX Liquid Suede Soft-Spoken
Soft-spoken is a beautiful, nude brownish pink colour. Hard to describe, but very modern, pretty and wearable! This shade is famous for being a dupe of the ever so popular “Lolita” liquid lipstick by the more expensive brand Kat von D. I love this shade! It’s very flattering and I think this will suit many people. This colour is full-coverage in just one layer and applies very evenly.
NYX Liquid Suede Vintage
Well hello, colour that’s even harder to describe! I guess Vintage is a dark pink with hints of brown and purple. Very unique and gorgeous! It comes off a little lighter in the photos above, it’s a bit more of a darker shade in real life, but definitely still wearable and if I dare say, a nice head-turner that’s not flashy at all. Vintage needs two layers to build up to full coverage on me, but that’s not a problem at all since the formula is easy to layer when wet.
NYX Liquid Suede Cherry Skies
I’ll take a nice, deep red any day, thank you! Cherry Skies is an absolutely gorgeous dark red with a cooler undertone. It’s been my go-to colour over the holidays and it may just become my go-to red lipstick in general, I love it so much! Cherry Skies covers in one layer.
NYX Liquid Suede lipsticks dry down almost completely matte, without ever reaching that yucky paper-dry stage. They’re very comfortable to wear, in fact they’re one of the most comfortable types of liquid lipsticks I’ve tried. They’re relatively long lasting: they’ll easily survive a drink and a snack, but I have to re-apply after a full meal. I do recommend to take off the old layer first before re-applying, as they do tend to ball up when you try to apply a new layer over a layer that’s already dried up. I find myself reaching for these again and again, as they’re absolutely gorgeous and feel great on the lips. For the price, they’re amazing quality and I can definitely see why they’re so hyped up.
Hi, what is this bundle called? I cannot find it on the website
I don’t think the set has a name- couldn’t find it on the box in any case!
