The Spring Cleaning Begins | Loepsie’s Life

Happy Monday, my lovely readers. I hope you’re all doing well! I’m back with my phone photos of the week, to show you what I was up to last week. I had a nice and quiet week again. We finally tackled an organising project that was long overdue, I got a lot of work done, and there was even some time to relax in the park. Let’s take a look!

On Monday last week I met up with a friend to run some errands, mainly get rid of a load of cardboard boxes. Robbert’s and my storage downstairs was filled to the brim with the boxes that all our furniture came in during the move and my friend had some big boxes lying around as well, so we joined forces and tackled the task together. Afterwards we went to IKEA to get some things for her, and we discovered they now sell waffles in the restaurant. I don’t know whether they’re new or we’d just never noticed them before, but we got some and they were delicious. I’ve heard rumours that IKEA are working on a vegan hotdog, can’t wait to try that when it comes out. Oh and while we’re on this topic, New York Pizza NL has announced they’re going to start selling two vegan pizzas in April! These are happy times for vegans in the Netherlands, haha :)

I went grocery shopping and came across this giant easter egg display in the store. So many flavours! They’re all really special too, think strawberry and balsamic vinegar or wasabi and lime.

I took home a box and we tried them during Dungeons & Dragons that night. Some were better than others, but there wasn’t any I didn’t like. Yum!

My embroidery progress. This is likely going to take me five years to finish, haha! I’m still super new at this so it takes a lot of focus to not make any mistakes (especially since I have to count and numbers aren’t my friends), and since I usually only have time to work on it at night when I’m already tired I just can’t keep at it for a long time. So we’re taking it nice and slow. I do like where it’s going though and I think it doesn’t look bad at all for a first try.

I still really enjoy this, should probably take some hours out for it on the weekend!

Chubby bums at their dinner :)

MVMT kindly sent me this gorgeous watch. It’s the Magnolia from the Boulevard collection, and I’m in love with it. It’s rose gold and I feel like this goes with my skin colour better than gold or silver. I also love that it has a black number plate so it’ll go with all the all black outfits I wear all the time.

Confession: I’ve been slacking with my veggie lunches and have found myself having sandwiches almost daily again. This was my only salad this week! Time to go back to salad or soup for lunch at least three times a week. Meal prepping really helped me keep this up in the past, so I should probably schedule out some time for that on the weekend as well.

Went for a much needed at home bang trim. I wish all my hair got longer at the rate my bangs do, haha!

I made a batch of delicious chocolate and matcha energy balls. Guys, this stuff is goooood! Perfect as a mid-day snack to bump energy levels.

Of course, as always, the majority of my time was spent here in the office. I filmed a new Style Revival video this week and I really like how this one turned out! It was rather chilly and very windy, but we were finally able to film the outfit bits outside again.

Robbert was away on Friday night, so I sent him this photo of me doing all the things I won’t do when he’s here :) There aren’t many foods Robbert doesn’t like, but satay is one of them. That’s unfortunate as I love it myself, so I jumped on the opportunity and made myself a nice and big portion of tempeh satay with noodles, veggies and cassava crisps. I also watched a bit of season 4 of Black Sails. Robbert lost interest in the show after season 3 so we had stopped watching it together, and I’m now enjoying it when he’s away. I really enjoy living with Robbert but I do like my nights alone as well, especially when I can do things like these, haha!

It seems like spring is right around the corner over here. We’ve had really pleasant temperatures for the past two weeks, so on Saturday I decided to make myself a tumbler of tea, take a book and sit down in the park to read for a bit. I used to do this all the time back when I lived in Utrecht and it was something I greatly enjoyed, so I’d like to start doing that again now that the weather allows it. This park here is a bit further away from our home, but it’s worth the short bike ride because it’s really big and gorgeous. I already have a few favourite spots, and one of them is right here by the water.

I sat there for a while, but when I finished my tea it did start to get a bit too cold to just be sitting down so I decided to go for a little walk around the park before heading back home.

As my friend and I had cleared out the storage on Monday, Robbert and I could finally tackle organising it. We took a few hours out on Sunday to pull everything out, take a look at what we had in here, and put it all back in a way that makes sense and is functional.

We got rid of a few more boxes, and were able to organise everything by category so whenever we need something now, it’ll be easy to find and nice and accessible. I’m so happy we finally got this done! We weren’t able to do anything in here since the move because the whole space was filled to the brim with boxes, but now we should even be able to store our bikes in here. Over the moon! Now the last thing that needs doing before the house is 100% finished, is the balcony. I have the balcony setup pretty much all planned out, with the furniture we want to get and where we want to put it. I just need to figure out a nice plant arrangement, and then we can go out and buy everything. I’m so excited to finally have some private outside space this spring and summer!

We’re currently going through another health scare with little Penpingion. He’s a proper elderly rat now and the issues just keep piling on, poor thing. I’m on the phone with the vet nearly daily these days and it’s taking a bit of a toll on me, that’s why there weren’t that many photos in this week’s diary. He’s still loving life though and that’s all that matters for now. We’re taking it day by day!

I hope you’ve had a great week and are having a good one so far. Talk to you soon!
