Greetings, my lovely readers! I’m back with another photo diary of the past week. It’s a bit of a shorter one this time, I’m afraid, as my week has been remarkably uneventful. I managed to get a lot of work done and I was in a nice flow, which is great for me and the upcoming content but not so great for my diary, haha! I’ve noticed now that I have my social media ban during workhours firmly in place, I’ve kind of gotten out of the habit of constantly reaching for my phone and that means I don’t get as many photos. That’s something I’m going to work on though, so hopefully next week I can share a bit of a longer Loepsie’s Life with you again. Anyway, let’s take a look at what my week was like.
Monday was big moving day for the ratties! The baby rats are big enough that they can live in the large cage safely, without escaping through the bars. We moved them and their favourite toys in with the big boys. The little cage got cleaned and put back into storage until a new set of babies needs it. The move went really well! All four rats are perfectly comfortable with each other, they sleep together and share their food, so it’s all good.
My spoon is almost finished! I have the shape down pretty much the way I want it, so I’ve started sanding so that I can take a better look at what needs altering. I’m very close to getting it done and I can’t wait to start using it. It’ll need to be drenched in oil first, though.
Look at those four round butts! I love my boys so much I can’t even put it into words.
Last week I mentioned I was starting out as an explorer coach at the scouting this year. I decided to finally ditch the green cub uniform and get a new dark red one, in the explorer colour. I spent a nice relaxing evening taking all my badges off the old uniform and sewing them onto the new one.
The two generations of rats I currently have come from a different breeder than all the rats I’ve had before, and these boys can be incredibly naughty. We can’t really sit and watch a movie while the rats are free roaming on the sofa because they will get onto the windowsill one way or another and dig the dirt out of the flower pots, haha! The days of relaxing with the rats out are over :) The end result is usually that Robbert ends up sitting at the end of the sofa to stop them from opening the curtains (yes, they do that) and eating the basil plant. We truly do have a mischief of rats in our home now.
On Saturday we spent all afternoon and evening at the scouting in meetings. We took a break around dinner time and decided to make sushi. We got a bunch of ingredients, laid everything out on the table, and everybody made their own rolls.
My maki was green. Very green, and a bit misshapen :)
On Sunday my parents and brother came over for tea and to play with the ratties.
Robbert made delicious loaded nachos for dinner. He makes mad nachos, I don’t know how he does it. They were fantastic as ever.
My parents brought us a set of Lego BrickHeadz from the huge Lego store in London, and we assembled them this night. It’s been years since I last built something out of Lego and I’d forgotten how much fun it was. We had a great laugh at the fact that these guys have little brains inside their heads.
Batman and Superman!
And that was my week. Really not much going on I’m afraid, but those are among my favourite weeks. The ones where you just get to enjoy normal day to day life.
I hope you’ve had a wonderful week guys, talk to you soon!
My son is 8 years old and is very into Legos right now. He has 5 of the Brickheadz and he loves them! We currently have a Han Solo and a Chewbacca on display :)

Hear, hear! 😁
What variety of wood is your spoon carved from?
I’m afraid I’ve forgotten 😅 It was a branch we found on the ground and someone did mention what tree it was from but it’s slipped my mind
