FOTD: Fresh Gold

Gold makeup can go two ways. It can either be warm, heavy and bronzy, or light, fresh and subtle. I decided to go for the second option and incorporate gold into a fresh daytime look.

On my eyes
Sigma Paris Makeup Palette Versailles
Make-up Studio Eyeshadow Lumière Ivory Gold
Douglas Black Eye Pencil
Sigma Extended Wear Eyeliner Enlighten
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Original
MAC Satin Eyeshadow Mylar
Maybelline the Rocket Volum’ Express Black

I went for a quite natural, shimmery eyelook by applying Versailles all over the eyelid and Ivory Gold into the inner corners. To not overdo it with the shimmer, I used Mylar underneath the browbone. Since a liquid liner would’ve been too harsh, I decided to go for a pencil liner instead.

On my lips & nails
Catrice Ultimate Nudes 070 Same Seine But Different
Hope Girl Nail Travel Bling Bling Set Gold Shine
Catrice Lip Colour Cream Limited Edition Nymphelia 03 Nymph’s Glow

I wanted to give these nailpolishes from my Memebox a go, so I did this simple glittery manicure on my nails. I have to say I really like it and will probably wear this more often! On my lips I’m wearing my favourite nude gloss by Catrice. I’m so bummed that this is limited edition! Hopefully I’ll be able to find something similar by the time I run out…

On my face
Catrice Re-Touch Light-Reflecting Concealer 001 Porcelain
Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Cinema City CC Cream
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Compact Powder 001 Transparent
Catrice Defining Blush Duo 030 Pink Grapefruit Shake
Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Semi Precious Pearl

Sticking with the Korean beauty testing, I gave the CC cream a shot as well. I’m wearing it on its own here, and as you can see, the colour is great! It looked a bit light when I swatched it on my hand but it looks just right on my face. It provides a nice amount of coverage too, plenty for me. I like it! I paired it with Catrice Light-Reflective concealer to cover up some under-eye darkness, and Rimmel Stay Matte powder to keep it in place.
Since I wanted to keep this look light and fresh, I decided to skip on bronzer and go for a light pink blush. I used the lighter side of the Catrice Defining Blush Duo and popped some MAC highlighter just above it to give my cheeks a glow.

Do you wear gold makeup? What’s your favourite way to incorporate it into your look?

  1. Love it! And the nails look very classy and not tacky! I love gold make up. A friend gave me an ESL gold palette as a gift before my wedding. Unfortunately, that too was a limited edition. :/
