Used up: Catrice Re-Touch Light-Reflecting Concealer

I’m introducing a new category of posts on Loepsie.com! I really enjoy empties videos and posts and I know I’m not the only one.  They’re the perfect way to get good information and opinions about products from people who’ve actually used the product for a long time. Given that I’m on a tight budget, I’ve always been very economical in my use of beauty products. Because of this nature of mine, I won’t be able to gather enough empty products to do regular empties videos anytime soon. However, my collection has been growing and I feel like I should use my stuff up. I want to use it up! And I also want to share what I think of it. So for that reason, from now on I’m going to write reviews of the products I use up!

Today we’re kicking it off with the Catrice Re-Touch Light-Reflecting concealer.

The Product

I was very pleased with this concealer and happily used it up. First of all, the colour was perfect for me. Colour 001 Porcelain was very light, which I greatly appreciate as often a brand’s lightest concealer tends to be too dark for me. This is a great one for fair skinned ladies! The colour was nice and bright, and didn’t contain visible shimmer.

The coverage was plenty for me. As it’s a brightening undereye concealer, I didn’t test it on blemishes, but it took care of my dark circles really nicely.

The Packaging

The packaging was pleasant to work with and functional. It has one of those tubes where you twist the bottom, it clicks and product comes out of the brush on top. I’m not a big fan of in-product applicators since you can’t clean the brush in between uses, so I prefer to use my own brushes. I only used the brush in the container to apply dots of the concealer, and then went in with my own brush to blend it out. Blending with the brush it comes with wouldn’t have done, it would dispense too much product.

Really the only downside to this product is how quickly I used it up! I bought this to replace the Sephora light reflecting concealer that had lasted me for years before I decided to use it up by painting my face with it during my Makeup History series. I really wasn’t expecting this concealer, which I only used on my undereye area, to be gone within two or three months. On the other hand, it’s better hygiene-wise since, as I mentioned, you can’t really clean the brush applicator and it will collect some germs over time.

Will I Repurchase?

All in all, I was very satified with this concealer. It’s budget friendly, but considering the amount of product inside, I wonder if I could actually get better value for money with a slightly pricier product. For that reason, I won’t be repurchasing the Catrice Re-Touch Light-Reflecting Concealer right away, but I will definitely return to it if I don’t find anything better in my price range!

Do you guys have any good undereye concealer recommendations for me?

  1. Loepsie I used the DreamLumiTouch concealer from Maybelline in Ivory (which is the lightest shade) and that one was fine. But this one seems really dark and I can't figure out why, because I'm not even that pale… Maybe they put the wrong sticker on it.

  2. Oh my, can't imagine the struggle you have to go through to find the perfect concealer! Did you ever find one that matches?
