When I used up my last shampoo, I mentioned at the end that I was going to buy the Ogx Cherry Blossom Ginseng shampoo next. Many people told me this was their absolute favourite shampoo and I had to try it so I did, and I used it all up. Let me tell you what I thought about it!
The Product
I started using Ogx shampoos because they offer great, luxurious quality without SLS. Since my big shed in 2011 I’ve been avoiding sodium laureth sulphate (a harsh cleaning agent) in shampoo like the plague, I don’t want to risk my hair falling out again and I also think my scalp prefers being cleaned in a more gentle way.
This shampoo contains cherry blossom, ginseng root, rice milk and bamboo extracts, as well as some nourishing oils.
The bottle promises to give you volume at the roots while nourishing the hair, which to me seemed like an impossible combination. A shampoo is either volumizing and drying, or it’s nourishing and weighs the hair down. But this one seriously blew me away. When I woke up the next morning after having washed my hair with this for the first time, my hair was huge and shiny. I could hardly believe it but this shampoo does what it says, and it does it very well. It makes my hair super shiny and soft and healthy looking & feeling, but it also gives the most volume I’ve ever gotten from a shampoo. Plus, the product itself is pink and has a very soft, feminine scent. A whole bottle down and I still can’t praise this shampoo enough. Definitely two thumbs up!
The Packaging
I like the way Ogx packages their products, I think the round bottles are cute and elegant. The product is dispersed through a classic squeezy-opening in the top, not very unique but works just fine. I like how the front has a lot of info about the product and what it does, it really helps when you want to pick one out. No complaints here!
Will I Repurchase?
Definitely! In fact, I ran to the store as soon as I started running low on this bottle, and I’ve already been using the new bottle for a few weeks. And when I use that up, I’m very likely to go get another one. Ogx Cherry Blossom Gingsen shampoo seriously is the best shampoo I’ve ever used, my hair loves it. It’s a bit on the pricier side at €12, but it’s very much worth it in my opinion.
