Hello again, my lovely readers!
Time to look back at what my week has been like. It’s been a fun and productive one with lots of good food!
Monday
After a lot of editing and boring behind-the-scenes stuff that needs to be done, I headed out to jazz ballet class.
Autumnal sunsets are the most beautiful. I love being able to see these so often now.
I’ve got a hole in my dancing shoe! I’ve been wearing these for years and years now and they’ve finally started falling apart. I’m probably going to try and superglue them first, before I commit to a new pair.
Tuesday
Grocery haul! I got bread, nacho chips, bolognese crisps, bananas, strawberry muesli, avocado, pepper, soy milk, pears, grated cheese, black beans, peanut butter, tomato paste, hummus and baba ganoush. A big one this week!
I recorded a voice over and edited a video. Always accompanied by a cup of tea, of course.
Robbert came over in the afternoon and I made us some delicious tomato risotto, with fresh tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, peas, broad beans and fresh basil. Yum yum!
Tuesday
I wanted to make a lookbook with my new over the knee boots, so I put together a couple of outfits. It took a while since I’m not really that good at putting together outfits, haha! It always takes a couple of tried before I’m able to assemble something nice. Robbert and I headed out a few times to shoot the different outfits in different settings, and it took pretty much all day.
NACHOS! I love, love, love nachos. I made nicely loaded ones with black beans, tomato, pepper and red onion, and a fresh guacamole.
We’ve started watching Luke Cage! We’ve almost finished the season now and I really like it. I like it way more than AHS Roanoke, which hasn’t turned out to be my thing.
Wednesday
Halloween tutorial time! I kind of improvised on this one, but I’m happy with the way it turned out. It ended up looking like a forest nymph so I decided to call it the ‘Dryad’.
Once I put in the white mesh contacts I could barely see anything. Not only was I near-sighted like I always am without my prescription contacts, but the world seemed covered in thick white fog to me. Luckily Robbert built a beautiful set and helped me film the intro and take a few photos of the look.
Friday
Time to edit the Halloween tutorial! I uploaded it straight away and scheduled it to go up on Sunday.
I had friends coming over for dinner so got some groceries again. I decided to serve a cheese fondue with salad, so I got the fondue, a baguette, cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, pickles, and herbal butter. I got greens and cucumber for the salad, grapes and cookies to serve after dinner and a bread for myself.
I went on a little walk in the park. I can’t wait for all the leaves to go brown! It’s very slowly happening but the full effect of autumn isn’t there yet.
A cat friend! I’ve met this cat before, it’s extremely cuddly, haha! This cat likes to meow at me loudly from across the street, run up to me and have me pet it. For a long time. I always do, can’t pass up a free cuddle.
My friends came over and it was really fun. We had dinner and then connected to our friend in Dublin through Skype. It was so nice to catch up with everybody!
Saturday
Saturday has quickly become my favourite day of the week. I actually take my Saturdays off now, no working. When I woke up in the morning it was raining, so I stayed in bed watching YouTube videos for a while. When I got up the rain had reduced to a light drizzle, so I decided to head outside anyway. By the time I hopped on my bike the rain had stopped so I got lucky.
I took a nice long walk, but decided it would be better to not sit down with a book this time. I’m afraid I’m going to have to postpone that until spring, haha! Don’t want to catch a cold :)
Afterwards I slowly headed to my parents’ house.
Sunday
Rattie cuddles! I love my boys so much. Look at that little foot, haha!
My bangs are growing so quickly, it’s ridiculous. They were poking my eyes and driving me crazy so I decided to give them a little trim. I’ll probably be doing this quite often!
I finally found out what nutritional yeast is called in Dutch and where I can get it! I’m really excited to give this a try. I’m trying to minimise my use of animal products so I’m very curious how this will live up to its reputation as a cheese replacer. It’s super healthy in any case so I look forward to incorporating this into my diet.
That was my week! I hope you’re off to a great start this week. See you soon!
Nutritional yeast is DELICIOUS on popcorn and yummy on pasta as well 😊
Hi, I have a question! How do you make the cheese fondue? Do you simply melt a lot of cheese in a pot then you “bath” the veggies in it? Thanks!
I bought a packet of readymade fondue this time, but there’s a recipe up from a while back on this blog as well where you can see how to make it from scratch :) You dip the bread & veggies in
Hi Lucy :-) It sounds like a lovely week. I think you deserve your no-work Saturdays, enjoy it. Your hair is growing so quickly. I can’t even believe it. You’re really lucky.
When you say, you are trying to minimise the use of animal products, do you want to go vegan? I am very curious about that and think it could be very interesting topic for a video.
Pozdravuji z ÄŒeska.
Hi Lenka,
I’m doing what I feel like I can do to reduce my use of animal products, without having to make major changes to my lifestyle. At the moment this means going for the vegan option whenever there’s one available, and being vegetarian the rest of the time :)
Hi, glad you had a great week! I’m curious what you make of nutritional yeast, because I recently got some myself and I don’t quite know how to use it ;p
Love from Germany
Well I only got it yesterday so nothing yet, but I’ll keep you updated! :)
