Quick Makeup Tip: Baby Wipes

Lately I’ve been doing something during my makeup routine, which is so simple I can’t believe I haven’t been doing this all my life, but has made a huge impact. Ok, here it comes… I’ve gotten a pack of baby wipes. Yep.

This is such a trivial thing I’m almost embarrassed to share it, but if I haven’t thought about it before, maybe you haven’t either. Every time I sit down to apply my makeup, I take a baby wipe (just your regular, cheap baby bum wipes). I use this to spot clean my makeup brushes, especially the one that I use with my gel eyeliner. This way the gel liner doesn’t dry up inside the brush and it’s ready for me to use again next day. I also spot clean the angled brush I use to fill in my eyebrows, so that I’m never surprised by an unexpected super heavy application. I use it to spot clean my beauty blender, by squeezing out some of the foundation with the wipe. Of course washing makeup brushes and sponges is still necessary on a regular basis, but for the quick, daily mini-clean, a baby wipe is perfect. I use it to clean mascara smudges off my face, and off the mascara bottle itself. I use it to wipe eyeshadow fallout off my cheeks, and my desk. The baby wipe is pretty much my super quick one-stop-shop for cleaning everything while and after I do my makeup.

I clean any smudges or mistakes off my face first using a corner of the baby wipe, then I use another corner of the wipe to clean the dirtiest brushes and squeeze my beauty blender, and lastly I ball the whole thing up and wipe my desk. Wham, everything’s clean, and it took next to no time and effort. Revolutionary, I tell you.

I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m the last person on earth to start doing this but hey, I wanted to share this nonetheless. The tiny, trivial thing that makes my morning just that touch smoother and easier.

    1. Well, cotton pads with make up remover are kinda one-use only as well, so… I don’t see an alternative that can be used several times except a wetted cloth, but that won’t work as well as the baby wipe.

Honestly, when growing up, I always used baby wipes because I didn’t use make up regularly and for some reason my mom didn’t have make up remover, so yeah! I always try to use the same one as much as I can before it dries up, usually I only need one :)

      1. re-usable cotton pads exist! I mean, they’re not as multi-purpose as baby wipes, but they do the job ^^
