Greetings to you on this lovely Monday afternoon! The sun is shining in the Netherlands today and we’ve gotten a lovely forecast for the rest of the week as well. Sunny weather always has such a huge positive effect on my mood, I’m really excited for the week to come. Not just because of the sunshine, but because I have some really exciting things on my calendar as well. But first, as every Monday, I’m going to take you with me and show you what I was up to last week.
Grocery haul on Tuesday morning! I got cacao, spinach, salt & vinegar crisps, salt & pepper crisps, bread, sandwich spread, avocado, herbal tea, black beans, vegetable stock cubes, sun dried tomato hummus, sweet potato, kiwis and rice.
I cleaned the house (which I still have all to myself- it’s never taken this long to rent out the house I share a bathroom with before!), took a lunch break with avocado, nutritional yeast & sambal on corn bread, and got to filming.
I filmed and edited two videos and took photos for a blog post.
For dinner I had the leftovers from last week’s satay which I’d frozen. Yum yum!
I received a package from Jord which contained this beautiful wooden watch with an emerald number plate. I absolutely love my Jord watches and wear one almost every single day. They’re so gorgeous and such great quality… I’m really glad to hear from some of you guys that you got one and love yours as well!
Wednesday was a beautiful sunny day. I got a lot of work done in the morning so that I could take a few hours off in the afternoon to enjoy the sunshine.
Which I did! I took my blanket, e-reader and some fruit out to the park and waited for Robbert to come over.
We spent a good portion of the evening looking for houses. We discovered some lesser known realtor websites that offer more affordable apartments every now and then, so we were able to send out a few visit requests for houses in, wait for it… Amsterdam. Yep. I’m afraid the place is one I can’t avoid, as pretty much my entire social life revolves around it. I grew up near Amsterdam as you may know, my parents’ town which I visit every weekend is just next to Amsterdam, so everything I do except for working (which I can do anywhere really) is there. Not all parts of Amsterdam are as unfit for me to live in as the centre and the part where I lived unhappily for two years, so we’re looking at some areas closer to my hometown where we could live. We have our eyes on a specific apartment, but I’ve decided not to get my hopes up to prevent too big of a disappointment if we don’t get it (which is likely). Anyways, keep your fingers crossed for us :)
Next day Robbert and I spent somewhere, doing things with people. That’s about all I can say about that, sorry! It needs to remain a secret for now, but if it’s any solace to you, it doesn’t have anything to do with my work or anything personal that you’d find exciting, haha :)
On Friday morning I met up with one of the ladies from the company I’m working with on Tea Garden, to discuss some last details about the travel size launch and the tea festival that’s coming up. I ordered some tea at the cafe we were at, and they presented me with this tea bar. Now that’s how you keep customers happy! Isn’t this adorable?
When I came home, the leaflets I had orderedĀ for the tea festival had just arrived. I love how they came out!
I also got the photo on the front printed as a poster. I’m still not sure whether I think this is awkward or really cool. Probably a bit of both, haha!
In the afternoon I went over to my parents’ for some rattie cuddles, then I headed to the scouting to help out with a photography project Robbert’s kids were doing.
Next day I went to the scouting again to help out during the younger kids’ sleepover camp, and on Sunday I was there once again to do some organisational stuff. I currently smell like a smoked sausage from the campfire, just so you know :)
That was my week! This week is going to be super busy but super fun, I’m really excited for it. Have a nice day everybody, see you soon!
Lucy, how long does it usually take for your Jord watches to arrive to Europe? Mine has been stuck somewhere for almost 2 weeks now, according to the tracking site. Other things I buy from the US come in a week or 2, maybe three every now and then, and that’s from the day of ordering to the day of arrival. I’m starting to get worried.
I’d say it usually takes about 2 weeks. You should definitely contact customer service, maybe they can do something for you!
