Loepsie in Cosmo: Translated!

As you probably know, I was featured in Cosmopolitan NL a while ago. They did a feature on “YouTube Queens” and asked me to do a photoshoot and interview. Of course I said YES right away, I mean… WHAT!?

The issue came out in March, and I showed it to you then. Many of you seemed to regret not being able to read it, since it’s in Dutch. I decided to translate it for you guys today! Woop!

So, here it is :)

Gives hair and beauty tutorials for looks with a twist of fantasy

“On the one side I love beauty, on the other side I also love fantasy and the middle ages. When I started vlogging six years ago, it felt very logical to me to combine the two: to create looks with hair and makeup that fit my interests. It was something new on YouTube. Some people think it’s strange, but I don’t care: I love making myself look like I came straight out of Lord of the Rings.

Every year my parents and I go on skiiing vacation to a little village in Austria. They happen to have a costume store that has a huge extreme makeup collection. Nosewax, facepaint, fake teeth, you name it. I go all out in there, because it’s super cheap. I stock up on those items and get to make the strangest tutorials with them.

I used to read everything about beauty and makeup in English, and it felt a little unnatural to translate all of that into Dutch. That’s why I vlog in English. That also means people from all over the world watch my videos. A while back I was in Ireland and got recognised on the street. That’s pretty crazy.”

As you can probably tell, these aren’t actually my words. They exaggerated a few things here and there. That’s how journalism works, haha! It’s ok though, I like how it came out :)

By the way, I recently did an interview with Sigma Beauty as well. We discussed the Dutch view on beauty. Click here to check that out!
