Remember when I did the Boyfriend Tag video, and Robbert said he would eat my pasta pesto every day? Well, this is it.
It is one of those dishes that you can get on the table in under 15 minutes and is a real crowd pleaser. Perfect for unexpected guests! And did I mention it’s super budget friendly?
Ingredients:
– Pasta, 200 grams (you can use any kind, but I prefer fusilli)
– Pesto (1 jar, 185 grams)
– Cream cheese (1 packet, 100 grams)
– Cherry tomatoes (a good handfull)
Boil the pasta according to instructions, I like to just keep an eye on mine and drain it when it’s reached the desired softness.
In the meanwhile, melt the cream cheese in a pan. Add the pesto (I use jarred, but you can definitely use homemade pesto. Even better!) and the sliced cherry tomatoes. When ready, drain the pasta and add the sauce to it. Serve with parmezan cheese.
Serves 2 hungry people or 3 less hungry ones :)
This is the basic recipe, Robbert and mine’s favourite. However, there are endless options for adding to it. It’s really good with pine nuts and sundried tomatoes. Feel free to play around and experiment, that’s the joy of cooking!
This dish is on my table at least once in two weeks (Robbert would eat it more often, but considering the nutritional value vs. fat/salt, I refuse ;) ) I really hope you guys like it as well, enjoy!
Loepsie I've made another batch tonight and that is currently cooling for tomorrow's lunch, so we shall see! :-) Thanks Lucy! :-)
It's even better the next day! Do try! :D
I made this today and it was delicious! :-) Has anyone tried it as a cold pasta salad the next day? I think that might also be really good :-)
I made this and everyone who ate it loved it! -w- Thanks ♥
Loepsie, if you know more of these quick, simple, low-budgeted recipes, please share with us! As a college student who is still learning how to cook, these come really in handy! hahaha
I love your blog/videos so much OwO
i made it and i was really looking forward to the dish, but i was really disappointed with how bland it was especially since i followed your instructions down to the last detail and i even bought the same brands you used.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing this! The other day I was thinking about your pasta pesto that you made in your vlog and I thought "I should watch that one again to figure out how to make it cuz it looked so good!" I can't wait it make it!
It looks delicious!!! I love your cooking tips! I tried the banana oat pancakes, it didn´t work…I think I added to much banana, but it tasted really good!!! I´ll definitely try this one!!!
Eating while I write this. It is amazingly delicious!!! Mine looks a bit darker, maybe the kind of pesto I used? Nonetheless, a new favourite of mine. Thanks for this!!!! =)
It definitely looks yummy! Will certainly be trying it :)
Thank you so much! I have all the ingredients ready but I forgot the most important part, the pesto! Derp! :))))
I use Mon Chou, but Philadelphia should definitely work as well :)
Oh yes <3 You mentioned this in one of your vlogs and thanks to that I've been staring at a pesto jar in a shop two days ago, but I didn't know if I should buy it or not. I am totally going back there tomorrow and I'm cooking this for dinner ! Just one question – what kind of cream cheese do you mean? Like Philadelphia?
Yummy will definitely try this out :)
haha, eating it right now as i read this :)
