The Perfect Pasta Pesto

Remember when I did the Boyfriend Tag video, and Robbert said he would eat my pasta pesto every day? Well, this is it.
It is one of those dishes that you can get on the table in under 15 minutes and is a real crowd pleaser. Perfect for unexpected guests! And did I mention it’s super budget friendly?

Ingredients:
– Pasta, 200 grams (you can use any kind, but I prefer fusilli)
– Pesto (1 jar, 185 grams)
– Cream cheese (1 packet, 100 grams)
– Cherry tomatoes (a good handfull)

Boil the pasta according to instructions, I like to just keep an eye on mine and drain it when it’s reached the desired softness.
In the meanwhile, melt the cream cheese in a pan. Add the pesto (I use jarred, but you can definitely use homemade pesto. Even better!) and the sliced cherry tomatoes. When ready, drain the pasta and add the sauce to it. Serve with parmezan cheese.
Serves 2 hungry people or 3 less hungry ones :)

This is the basic recipe, Robbert and mine’s favourite. However, there are endless options for adding to it. It’s really good with pine nuts and sundried tomatoes. Feel free to play around and experiment, that’s the joy of cooking!

This dish is on my table at least once in two weeks (Robbert would eat it more often, but considering the nutritional value vs. fat/salt, I refuse ;) ) I really hope you guys like it as well, enjoy!

  9. Oh yes <3 You mentioned this in one of your vlogs and thanks to that I've been staring at a pesto jar in a shop two days ago, but I didn't know if I should buy it or not. I am totally going back there tomorrow and I'm cooking this for dinner ! Just one question – what kind of cream cheese do you mean? Like Philadelphia?
