Baking Scones With Melanie Murphy

My lovely friend Melanie, who you may know from YouTube since she’s a massive Irish YouTuber, and I are baking some good, old-fashioned scones today! :)
Although we kind of messed up the process, the scones turned out amazing and we had loads of fun filming this. The (correct) recipe is at the bottom of this post!

We messed up a little bit in the video, but here are the correct measurements for scones:
450 g self-rising flour
50 g sugar
pinch of salt
200 ml milk
110 g unsalted butter
1 egg
raisins to taste
cinnamon to taste

Combine the dry ingredients, then add the butter and knead until it forms a crumbly dough. Add the milk and beaten egg, and stir everything together. Roll the pastry out onto a surface dusted with flour until it’s about 2.5 cm thick, and cut out your scones using a glass or cookie cutter. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180C for 15-20 minutes. Serve with cream and jam. Enjoy!

We baked traditional Dutch “appelflappen” on Melanies channel, you HAVE to try them out guys, they’re amazing!

Melanie does awesome beauty, skincare, health & inner beauty videos that I’m sure you guys will love, so be sure to check out her channel and show her some love!
