Life In Amsterdam | Loepsie’s Life

Happy Monday my lovely readers! I’m back with another photo diary straight off my new phone. It’s been almost a year now that I’ve lived in Amsterdam again, and in all this time I don’t think I’ve ever been to the city as much as I have this past week. It’s been an eventful week, and a really fun one too. Let’s take a look at what I’ve been up to.

A few weeks ago I found out the Dutch National Opera & Ballet offers memberships for young people (under 35) that provide you with massive discounts on show tickets. I love both opera and ballet and would go see performances much more often if it wasn’t for the steep prices, so needless to say I was very excited when I discovered this. I signed up straight away and last Monday I went to the first performance I bought tickets for through my membership: the ballet La Dame aux Camélias. It was beautiful, it was romantic, it was tragic and it was wonderfully executed. I loved it and can’t wait for the next performance I get to go to!

Beautiful Amsterdam by night. Our home is directly connected to the National Opera & Ballet theatre by metro so I can get home quickly and safely after the show, which is great and another encouragement to go more often.

Sharing my breakfast yogurt with the boys, as always. Look how big the little ones are getting! Whenever I walk past the cage now I can’t see who’s a big one and who’s a small one out of the corner of my eye anymore.

I went for lunch with my bestie at SLA, a salad bar that makes the most amazing salads and bowls and has lots of vegan options. They make gigantic portions too so it took us a while to finish everything. Not that we minded, there’s always plenty to talk about, haha :)

OOTD! I’ve been gravitating more towards dresses again as the weather gets colder, I just really love how comfortable they are with a pair of warm tights underneath.

Babies! <3

This year I really struggled with my Halloween videos and to be honest, for a while I wasn’t even sure I was going to make any this time around. Luckily I was hit with a bit of inspiration after all so I pulled out my little box of Halloween makeup (that I didn’t even end up using) and created…

My dementor look! I have to say it’s much less impressive without the hood and with the duckface, but hey, haha! I really enjoyed making this. It’s already live so you can check it out here if you’re interested.

Afterwards I washed all the makeup off again and went for a run. I’ve noticed I’m getting better at running and I think it might be time to make my round a bit longer soon. I’d love to get to around 5k eventually, but I’m not interested in pushing it or getting there within a certain amount of time. I think I’ll just keep making my runs a little longer whenever it feels right, until I get there. I’m at a little over 2k now so there’s still a long way to go, but I’m just super glad I’ve kept at it for so long.

Leftover lasagna and a handful of microwave-exploded cherry tomatoes for dinner :)

After running I applied my blossoms & nuts hair oil as a mask to soak in for a few hours, and the rats were all over it. They took turns sitting on my head and digging through my hair, haha!

On Friday afternoon I was invited by my MCN to follow a workshop on YouTube. I learned a thing or two about the community tab and its benefits, so you may just be seeing some more posts from me on YouTube besides just video uploads in the near future :)

Beautiful Amsterdam by sunset. You know, I’m actually starting to get used to the city. It’s still not my favourite, but our relationship is definitely improving.

On Saturday I was invited to attend a workshop by Instagram on IGTV, a relatively new feature that allows you to upload longer vertical videos. I’ve seen a few people use the feature but haven’t done so myself yet, so this may be something I’ll try out at some point as well.

On Sunday I spent most of the day editing my dementor video and doing some things for scouting, but in the evening Robbert and I took some time off our duties to watch a movie together. Deadpool 2 it was!

I’d love to start doing my hair more often again in my day to day life (not just when I’m filming), so I decided to put my hair up in a sockbun for some nice curls next morning. I feel like this is a really easy way to create a more “done” look with next to no effort. Let’s see if I can keep this up as a habit!

And that’s the end of my week. I had quite a few work related and non-work related meetings that took up a bunch of my time and left me a bit behind when it comes to content creation (hence having to edit on Sunday), so I’m hoping to catch up on that again soon. It’s not going to be this week though, as I’m leaving on a mini camp with my explorer scouts on Friday morning. It’s going to be a great week regardless I’m sure, so I hope you have a good one too, guys!

  1. I second the vlogmas! Lol. I actually just recently watched it and I enjoyed a lot. Sending lots of love from the Philippines Lucy!

  2. Has it seriously been almost a year since you moved? So crazy. But it was right before Vlogmas, so I guess I knew that. Time goes by so quickly anymore. Are you thinking about doing Vlogmas again this year?

    1. Insane, right?
I’m definitely considering vlogmas again! Haven’t decided for sure yet but I really enjoyed it last year 😊
