The Crimes Of Grindelwald Premiere | Loepsie’s Life

Happy Monday everybody! I’m back with a photo diary of last week, to catch up on everything I’ve been doing. Sometimes, days can feel kind of frantic, even when they aren’t necessarily super busy. This past week was like that for me. I felt like I was under a lot of pressure, even though everything that needed doing was fun, and I do have to admit I’m a bit exhausted now. The worst of it seems to be over though so that’s a good thing. Anyways, the highlight of last week was without a doubt the Dutch premiere of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. I’ll show you a bunch of photos from the event, but let’s start at the beginning, on Monday.

A few months back, my inexpensive little tripod broke off inside my vlog camera when I screwed it on, apparently too tight. I’ve tried several different things to get it out since it happened, but now something finally worked. I used a tiny little screwdriver to carve out a slot in the center of the screw (which was made of plastic, for some reason), which I then inserted a larger screwdriver into. After several attempts and just shaving off the top layer of the screw, it finally worked and I got it out. You have no idea how relieved I am! Now I can finally steady the vlog camera again when filming, and I don’t have to balance it on stacks of items. Just in time for Vlogmas, too :)

Jackfruit has been on my list of things I wanted to try for a while. I bumped into it at my super market and decided to buy a box. It was ridiculously expensive at over €4 for 200g, but I wanted to give it a go nonetheless. I’m not quite sure what to think of it, if I’m honest. The flavour was nice but the texture is something I probably have to get used to. Compared to the other products I have available that could serve the same purpose, I don’t think this is worth the money.

On Tuesday Robbert and I headed into Utrecht to have some dinner before the Fantastic Beasts premiere. A Harry Potter pop up store opened in Utrecht a few days back so of course we had to take a look there first. It wasn’t what I was expecting at all! It’s much more like a museum than a store, and it’s really, really cool. These giant Lego figures are right by the door.

Then there’s several themed rooms where you can take photos with props, cast a vote for your favourite Hogwarts house, enter giveaways… I was thoroughly impressed.

There was a “muggle wall” that you could sign, and I found a little spot just up top there, haha!

Afterwards we had burgers for dinner (mine’s falafel) and then we headed to the theater we dubbed our favourite back when I still lived in Utrecht.

The dresscode was Parisian style with a touch of magic, and I’m not sure this is it but I do think it’s a nice outfit, haha! And it went with the theme quite well, if you ask me.

This was the most elaborately decorated premiere I’ve visited so far. There was a photo booth, a big Eiffel tower, staff were dressed either in 20’s style or as Grindelwald and everything looked gorgeous.

I liked this movie more than the first Fantastic Beasts and it was quite spectacular, but to be honest, I’m not blown away. I felt like there were too many loose ends. I understand this is part of a 5-part series but there were a lot of loose ends. I also felt like some events and behaviours didn’t make sense. BUT this one felt much more like the old school Harry Potter movies than the first part, I loved Johnny Depp as Grindelwald, there were some amazing visuals and I am quite excited to see how the story develops.

Robbert and I stayed at the after party for a little while before heading back home. It was a great night!

Outfit of the day. I’m trying to start wearing jewellery more often. I have quite a few nice pieces, but I’ve never really been much of a jewellery girl so I rarely ever wear them which is a shame. I’m looking for ways to style jewellery so that I do like it, and I feel like this combo is really nice. Also, there’s nothing better than second day curls from a vintage brush out.

Piggy socks!

Autumnal sunsets. So magical, and so hard to capture on camera :’)

I got Robbert to come out and take some photos for my Instagram and blog, as now’s the best time of the year to take beautiful pictures.

My little friend Diarmuid. He likes to hang out close to me (right behind me usually), but he’s not a fan of petting. So we usually just watch TV together :)

On Friday at scouting, the explorers built a haunted house for the scouts. We made a tunnel route lit by little electric tea lights that they had to follow through the dark. We had eery music and even a smoke machine. It was lots of fun!

Riding around in Robbert’s pouch, whee!

On Sunday Robbert and I went on a little stroll around town. We’re still trying to make me fall in love with Amsterdam and it hasn’t been very succesful yet, although I am more open to exploring the city now and looking for places I like. While we were there we decided to hop into H&M really quickly to just get a few t-shirts, and boy were we in for a surprise. Apparently the Sinterklaas parade was being held that very moment, right in front of the H&M we had decided to go to. Sinterklaas entered the country on Saturday and arrived in Amsterdam on Sunday, so loads of kids gathered around the Dam square to welcome him. So. Many. Kids. It was lovely though and we actually had a wonderful view of the parade from the men’s section at H&M, haha! We even got a good look at Sinterklaas himself :)

The last few days of the week were rather stressful as I tried to finish my little secret project as soon as possible so I can hopefully get it out in time for Christmas. Things kept going wrong and I’m working with all new platforms for it so figuring out how to fix everything was difficult. However, if everything goes well from now on I should be entering the final stages soon and be able to share everything with you guys within a few weeks.

I hope you’ve had a wonderful week guys, talk to you soon!

  1. Sinterclass in Netherland I did not know about. Tell more about that in vlogmas. Though I found some info in the internet yesterday. 😊
