Snowy Days | Loepsie’s Life

Happy Monday once again from this little country by the sea! As I’m typing this, I’m looking out onto my parents’ backyard, covered in snow. A rare and lovely sight! The past week has been a very successful one for me. I finally had a good boost in content production so I’m ahead almost as far as I’d like; if I have another super productive week this week I should be all set for my holiday in a couple of weeks. But, as always, there can’t be work without play. Let’s take a look at the photos I took last week!

I started Monday with a bike ride to my parents’ house. Such a gloomy day, this Monday was! I spent all day behind my laptop, working. Nothing too exciting there.

Giant grocery haul on Tuesday! It was my turn to cook for Dungeons & Dragons so I got more food than usual. I got bread, gigantic sweet red peppers, potatoes, corn, falafel, avocado’s, clementines, pears…

crackers, tomatoes, popcorn, tomato paste, ginger, chocolate dessert, chickpeas, black beans and tempeh.

After my weekly clean-up I went straight to work and filmed & edited two videos.

Hello, grey sky. This is what the sky looked like all week. I seriously can’t wait for the sunshine, bright blue skies and warmer weather.

Dinner! I made tempeh for the first time in my life, and I have to say I hit bullseye with my marinade. I didn’t really know what I was doing but it turned out AMAZING and I plan to share the recipe with you soon! I had the tempeh with oven roasted potato wedges and corn-on-the-cob.

Breakfast! I’ve fallen in love with this Alpro soy & almond yogurt. It’s ridiculously delicious. A sprinkling of blueberry muesli on top and I’m a happy camper.

I headed out to the drugstore to get myself one of those hair styling combs, and came home with some clips and an eyeshadow palette that was on sale. Oops. I want to give finger waving another go with these bigger clips soon. Not being able to get that styling technique down properly bothers me, haha! I’m really excited to try this palette out, too. It looks amazing with all those neutrals in a variety of finishes.

The comb was specifically for this video I had planned: an authentic-looking 40s brushout! I hadn’t really ever done this type of 40s hair before and I really wanted to try it out, see if I could make it work with my long hair. Here’s a little preview in a bad photo where my comb is sliding out, but I don’t want to give too much away yet! It’s a video I’m very excited about, haha! It’s going live on Sunday :)

After filming I dove into the kitchen and started cooking up dinner before everybody arrived for D&D. I made oven-roasted red pepper stuffed with falafel and a homemade tomato sauce, along with a spicy bulgur salad with tomato, chickpeas, raisins and green spicy peppers.

It was a good session! They all are, heheh :)

Next day I spent taking photos for blogposts, designing tickets for the roller disco we had planned at the scouting, and typing up posts. In the afternoon PMS hit and I had to get out of the house ASAP. It had been raining pretty much non-stop all week so I hadn’t left the house at all, and I couldn’t take it anymore. I headed out, got rained on, but enjoyed it anyway.

Chili con tempeh for dinner :) With corn, potato wedges and guacamole. Yum yum yuuum!

Next day I had leftovers for lunch, I just stuffed the remaining pepper with chili, roasted it in the oven, and topped it with nutritional yeast and guacamole.

This is the day when it started snowing in the Netherlands. Still no sun to be seen! I headed over to my parents’ as next day, Saturday, the preparations for our roller disco would start.

On Saturday however, this is what I woke up to. OMG! Beautiful, but so impractical, haha!

I headed over to scouting and we started decorating for the roller disco. We decided that we wanted to throw a big party at the start of the season, but we wanted to do it a little bit differently so we went for a roller disco. Unfortunately, we found out another scouting group had also planned a party for the same day, so we were really nervous that nobody would show up to ours.

Luckily the party went well! It was loads of fun. We rented out skates, and people had a good time. I didn’t take many photos as I was selling tickets or serving drinks most of the nights, but it was dark so you wouldn’t have been able to see much anyway. It was a great night and we were able to break even in the end, despite the enormous quantity of drinks we’d bought, haha!

On Sunday we cleaned up quickly, and Robbert and I headed over to his parents’. A few hours later I went over to my friends’ place, who was hosting a dinner. One of my old friends from highschool was there who moved to Japan a few years back, and it was so nice to see her again! I was super tired from the night before but ended up staying quite late anyway, we just couldn’t stop talking.

It was a great week! I’m ready and super motivated to finish what I started this week. One more week of intense filming and blogpost writing and I should be good, work-wise. We’re going to Austria in a few weeks and I’m really excited, but I want to be sure there’s content going up while I’m away!

I hope you’ve had a good week as well and that this one is even better. Oh, and happy Valentine’s day!

  1. So excited to see how you got the 40’s waves to work! I’m too scared to chop my hair but styling can be so hard when it’s too long.
