Back Home | Loepsie’s Life

Hello my lovely readers, happy Monday to you all!

On Sunday last week I got home from Germany, where I had an awesome summer camp full of nature, adventure and fun. I headed straight on from Germany to Amsterdam Comic Con, which was quite overwhelming for me as I’d just spent a week in the woods and three hours in a car, heh. I experienced all of Comic Con as a kind of blur, but I remember spotting some actors I fangirled over a little and it was a good experience overall. The very next day it was time to get back to work! Come take a look with me at my first week back in the Netherlands and back at normal life.

Monday

1

Good morning rattie friends! Some big time cuddling happened, of course, before I packed my stuff and headed to Utrecht.

2

I wanted to get started with filming videos and writing blog posts ASAP so I headed home right away on Monday morning, albeit with the intention of taking it easy on Monday itself. I’d caught a cold during camp so I wanted to make sure to not turn it into something worse by working too much (see, I’m learning, haha!)

Utrecht Central Station is looking better and better every time I go there! They have been renovating the whole area for years, since before I started visiting Utrecht regularly in fact, and it’s really nice to see it all coming together so beautifully now.

3

Home sweet home! Some unpacking and cleaning needed to be done so I got on it right away. The week in Germany had been a very active one physically, and I was still buzzing with energy from it all of this week. I tried to keep up the more active lifestyle as it feels really good, but now at the end of the week I can feel myself slipping back into my old lazy habits… I’m going to try and stay more active again this week! But yeah, the whole buzz made me super motivated to clean and I tackled some areas that had been neglected for a while. The whole house was sparkly after I finished :)

5

Groceries needed to be done as well! I had no food in stock at all as I’d been away for a long time, so I got some new stuff to enjoy. I got canned tomatoes, lentils, an aubergine, muesli, nectarines, bananas, kiwis, carrots, sweet potatoes, soy milk and choriatiki, a tomato-based spread/dip that’s new with the Maza brand (where I buy most of my meze from). It’s not actual choriatiki (Greek salad), I’ve no idea why they decided to call it that but it’s good nonetheless, haha!

6

A freshly filled fruit bowl makes me so happy <3

4

I got some SFX stuff at Comic Con! Halloween is quickly approaching so I got some new toys to play with. I got rigid collodion, which I’ve been wanting to try out for a long time, stippling sponges, and a new set of creepy contacts. Heehee! I’m already thinking up some ideas and I plan to have a bunch of Halloween videos out again this year. Super excited.

Fruit is my favourite thing. Besides veggies. I’ll be so sad when all the summer fruit goes out of season.

15

My face needed some serious fixing after a week of sleeping in tents and hiking through woods, so I went through a full pamper routine with facial brushes, scrubs, several masks and oils to finish. I also paid some much-needed attention to my nails.

Dinner! I was really craving my own, homecooked food which I love so much, so I made the most typical Lucy-dish ever. Lentil stew! It was amazing. It always is ;) Plus, I made enough that I could enjoy it for two more days. Woop!

Tuesday

9

Alright, now it’s really time to go back to work. I got into this regime of filming a video and then editing and uploading it right away, and found this works quite well for me. I’m going to try and perfect the routine over the next couple of weeks but this seems to be a method that works!

14

The only thing I bought in Germany: proper eau de cologne from Köln. I’m head over heels in love with this scent, there’s already a post up about it if you’re interested!

Filmed the back to school hair tutorial

10

And edited and uploaded it right away! With a cup of green tea, of course. Always.

Wednesday

11

On Wednesday I filmed and edited two more videos, and as I was done pretty early I decided to head out to the park and enjoy the sunshine. I’d been taking walks here every single day to keep up the more active lifestyle, but today I decided to sit down and linger for a while.

12

I packed up some food and my e-reader, went to my favourite spot, and sat down to read for about an hour. I haven’t read at the park much yet this summer so I really enjoyed it.

20

Later in the afternoon Robbert came over! His thesis is nearly finished now so we finally get to spend a bit more time together. We ended up talking all night as there was a lot to catch up on, including all the details of summer camp (where I essentially went with his friends. He was supposed to come too of course but you know, thesis >.<).

Thursday

13

Then on Thursday, I started out optimistically like all previous days, but as the day progressed I felt worse and more tired. The cold in combination with the monthly party felled me, haha! I got a headache and ended up staying in bed for most of the day. In the evening I spotted this air balloon. I don’t know why those things always make me so happy, but they do. Not that I’d want to fly in one. I like looking at them from the ground :)

Friday

17

On Friday I felt a lot better, so I wrote the blogpost about my new perfume, and then after Robbert left I filmed another video. As I was leaving to head to my parents, I saw a handwritten envelope for me on the doormat. I had no idea what it could be so I quickly grabbed it and opened it on the train. The beavers’ Minecraft camp badges came in! I ordered them from the UK so I wasn’t expecting them to arrive so soon at all. It was a nice surprise and I’m sure the kids will love them.

Saturday

19

I honestly can’t remember what I did for most of Saturday. I edited the video I filmed on Friday but other than that I can’t remember, haha! I do know I went to Robbert’s place in the afternoon.

Where we started binge watching Jessica Jones. I really like this show, it’s from Marvel and Netflix but really nicely done. It doesn’t have that over-the-top superhero vibe that Marvel movies often tend to have, and it’s quite captivating.

Sunday

18

On Sunday we spent most of the day watching more Jessica Jones episodes. We almost got through the whole season, I believe we have about 4 episodes left, haha! In the afternoon I went home to my parents again.

And that was my week! I hope you had an awesome week and that this one will be even better. See you soon!

  1. Jessica Jones is so good, oh my god. I didn’t like Daredevil at all, so I was wary, but it’s just so good. Luke Cage’s own series will premiere in September too! Definitely something to look forward to.
