Winter Has Come | Loepsie’s Life

Happy Monday everybody! It’s time to take a look at some photos I took last week and everything I was up to. This week I spent a lot of time just working from home. I’m trying to work ahead so that I’ll have plenty of time for packing and moving when we get a green light on the apartment we’re hoping to rent. But of course there was time for relaxation and fun as well, so let’s take a look!

For some reason, rats love to climb up as high as possible and then hang over the edge. This wooden bridge is right at the top of the cage and here you can see Llewelyn enjoying the view. From below. Isn’t this just adorable? Look at that little chin! Those little paws! Awwww <3

Dance class on Monday evening, as usual. Look at my left shoe falling apart, haha! I’m not sure whether I should try to repair it or just get a new pair, and because I can’t decide, I haven’t done either. Classic.

Tuesday is still chores & filming day in my book, so after cleaning the house & running a load of laundry I headed out to the grocery store. I got soy yogurt, salt & pepper crisps, pears, dried lentils, baba ganoush, sweet potatoes, pickled jalapenos, bell peppers, canned tomatoes, olive oil and soy milk.

I love seeing my fridge stocked up with fresh food. I’ll sometimes just stand in front of it and smile like a creep, haha! I just love food, OK :)

My little friends. Please tell me I’m not the only 20-something that still has stuffed animals.

It has begun! Mystery plant is officially in bloom. It is a kalanchoe by the way, some readers identified it in my “indoor plants” post, but I’ve gotten so used to calling it mystery plant that I just stick with it :)

On Wednesday I met up with Catarina, a photographer from Portugal who was visiting Utrecht for a few days and was looking for someone to do a shoot with. I put on my favourite grey sweater dress and headed into the city centre.

It was a little bit of a challenge as the city was quite crowded and the light was fading quickly, but we managed to get some really nice shots in the end! I’ve been gradually sharing them on Instagram, and you’ll get to see them in blog posts and on other social media channels as well. You can check out more of Catarina’s work here.

As we were strolling through the city we came across this store display. TOAST PYJAMAS! This is genius, I love them so much. Unfortunately this was in the street where all the fancy, expensive stores are so I didn’t even dare to go inside and look at the price of the PJ’s. They did have adult sizes, though. Brilliant.

We met up for Dungeons & Dragons in the evening and my friend made a yummy red pesto pasta salad for dinner.

I really wanted to show Amelisweerd to Robbert as he’d never been there before and we might be moving to another city soon so it wouldn’t do to wait until spring or summer. The weather was absolutely lovely on Thursday so we decided to head out and go for a little walk there. The lighting was incredibly beautiful so we took some outfit photos for this post. When we came home we warmed up with a bowl of soup, and got back to work. It was a perfect winter day!

Sweet potato wedges and bell peppers stuffed with spicy lentils, sprinkled with the leftover cheese from the night before. This was delicious!

Friday morning I filmed and edited another video, and then headed to my parents’ house.

On Saturday morning I went to the scouting to lend a hand as two of the leaders were off to a course. The field was all icy which was loads of fun for the kids, of course. Nothing like smashing ice when you’re 6, haha!

Afterwards I headed over to Robbert’s house and we watched some more Sherlock. Fluffy Guus joined us.

Fluffy Guus also joined us for dinner. She loves to sit at the dining table and it’s the cutest thing. Look at that little face! Robbert’s parents had some family over so we had a fun evening.

Next morning I went back to my parents’ and I spent most of the rest of the day planning out my editorial calendar. Look at that month full of content! It gives such peace of mind to know what you’re going to upload when, and working ahead is going to be much easier this way. I usually only plan ahead one or two weeks but I’m really hoping to keep this up.

Have a great week, everybody!

  1. That’s a great picture of you and Robert you used at the top :) Your dinner with the sweet potato wedges and peppers looked very yummy :)

  2. Ok, I was gonna say “aha! I knew she was Portuguese!” and then I went to look at her website and… she’s from my island.
Someone I know met you ;____; How. lucky.

  3. I enjoy the pictures of your and Robbert’s pets so much! :D I have guinea pigs myself and cats at my mom’s house and I can’t get over how cute all of them are (guinea pigs look like they smile all the time <3), haha! One of our cats likes to sit on chairs and look at the table as well. He just likes to be where his humans are.
Oh, and I also relate to you not being able to decide what to do and ending up doing nothing at all way too much, too. ^^"
